Nice to see you here!!!!
Before we left the house I looked outside if there was a "glow"...my first thought was N. Korea  and didn't want the family outside if there was fallout :sad2:

any news on Tsumami????
no tsunami warnings...but there is supposed to be high surf (which we were already getting hig surf from the remnants of a tropical depression). they are reporting lots of landslides..DMil said that in our area they saw rocks on the road coming back from church...we live in a good area...away from the shore...so we are okay here...staying home today. My Dad came to check and dropped off my oldest niece...then my DSis came and dropped off the younger one...so I have a full house today.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and good thoughts :goodvibes I have four kids today...so I am getting off the DIS.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREW...and dinner sounds great Kathy :goodvibes

oh, and yesterday my DS set-up a little camp in our living room with pillows and blankets and then asked me if I knew the name of his kingdom...I didn't...so he said it was "Kingdom Come"..... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

glad lyn is ok!! hope kelli is resting after her long walk!

Hi Ladies - I am home and just took a much needed shower.

I DID IT!!!!

What an amazing walk. This year was so much better than last year. The walk was nicer the view was better and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!! We couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Other than blisters I feel pretty darn good. A little stiff when I sit for too long.

We are okay right now...electricity is back. It was scary this morning though....I was up late last night cleaning and slept in a little (usually I am up at 6) and I didn't realize DS was awake...he usually wakes me up and I start the day with him. Well, DH and I woke up with the shaking and he said DS was up...so I ran into the family room and just then the TV went out. I covered him and in between tremors we ran into the bedroom with DH and layed on the side of the bed. Then, we the shaking stopped DH took the kids outside and got our car out the garage and I grabbed a couple stuff and met them outside. Then, the a second one hit and we were outside. Our house is built really well since my Dad was a contractor and my background...so our entire house shifted together with the ground...which was good. My DSis said that they were outside for the second one and she could see the walls on my parents house moving  Only a couple things fell and nothing was damaged...thankfully everyone is okay. Luckily I am over-paraniod so I have supplies on hand...the first thing on the radio they were joking how people here are not prepared for emergencys and that there first news was Walmart was clodsed  In some areas they are reporting mudslides and telling people to stay off the roads. My DSis old neighbor...lives about 2 miles from me...said the drywall in his house cracked...and my DMil had a glass thing fall off a shelf and break...but thankfully minor stuff.
My Mom, DMil and DFil were all in church when in happened. Right when it happened we were going to start waking up for Sunday school and church...we didn't make it...but I sure was praising God this morning :teeth: the worst part was being separated from DS :guilty:

Very Glad to hear everything was okay.

We are just getting home from the dance. A.J. had sooooo much fun! He danced and danced and danced. He danced mostly with the college girls that were there helping out. (It was held at the Holmes Convocation Center at Appalachian State University.) A.J. wasn't shy at all about asking the girls to dance.

The cookies and wraps were a hit. They were the only homemade goodies. We brought about 2 dozen cookies back home with us but no wraps!

It was a great experience for Matthew to go and help out too!

:dancer: :dancer: glad he had fun!!! :dancer: :dancer:
