Northern zone opens today
Southern zone opens the week before thanksgiving and we live on
the border of the two zones

I don't get out as much as i used to but yep I hunt
we love venison
and one good deer saves alot on the food budget all winter

we get roasts and steaks and ribs and hamburg and stew meat

I don't like venison-too wild tasting for me-plus it smells bad raw

It's all in the way you prepare it

when we first get it before we freeze it

I soak it in ICE COLD baking soda water

that removes alot of the gamey taste any little hairs and clots

than i freeze it

and the way you cook it has alot to do with it too

I have served venison to people who claimed to hate it and they never
knew what it was until After i told them

I decided not to go with the new job

they couldn't be as flexible with my days off as where i am

and the money wasn't much different

Sorry the new job didn't fit for you. But sometimes that flexibility is worth so much more than money!! I know for me it is!

Matthew is with me 'cause we'll leave here for a few hours to go to the ASU soccer game and his trophy picnic and then come back here.

I made 65 bags of cookies this morning for a political rally. (The kids, especially DD, are really making fun of me for getting involved in political stuff - I've just never been that way. But this year we have a vested interest!) I tied each bag with a red and blue curling ribbon and then curled the ends.
