Hello everyone!!
I just got home from my turn in the hosptial (I've been there since yesterday at 9:30am), as Michael is going to sleep there tonight.
I feel both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time!
His procedure/surgery went well. It took him awhile to actually wake up from it, but he's doing fine now.
They drained as much fluid as they could, and then left a chest tube in to keep draining what they couldn't get out. It ends up that the pnemonia has spread quite a bit and actually killed his lung in three parts. The doctors have assured us that this is not a big deal b/c he is so young, but it still sounds so scary!!
They are giving him some type of medicine into the chest tube b/c he had quite a few blood clots that were blocking their way into getting all of the fluid out. So as the clots get broken down, you can see them come through the chest tube
He is holding up so well!! When his pain medication is working he is his happy normal self, joking around and wanting to do everything himself. Then the medication wears off and he starts moaning and groaning and it's just so sad.
thank you so much for all the cards you have sent him in the hospital

He has gotten so many that all of the nurses and doctors are coming in to read them all! They can't believe that he has so many friends and family

: who care about him so much!
He asked me before I left "Mommy, will I get more cards tomorrow?" He sure is getting to be one spoiled little boy there

He's gotten cards from everyone here, along with Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Mike W (from Monsters Inc.), Donald Duck, Stitch and Minnie!
I am going to try to spend some quality time with T, M and B here tonight. They are being such troopers themselves. They are getting up and helping to make their own lunches, coming home to an empty house most days

It makes me feel sad for them. that is why I wanted to make sure G was doing ok before I left so I could get home before they got home from school.
Well I'm off for a bit, see ya later
