I really should start on my list of things I need to do today...

I got so much done around here yesterday. Hope today can be as productive!

To let you know how great our department is...our 17 year old wants to become a junior firefighter so much!! Right now we're letting him go with us to meetings and help clean up fire trucks when we have time. And he's gotten to ride in the fire truck in a parade (along with our other two boys). But he wants to be a "real" fireman. The chief has told us whenever we feel comfortable with letting him join they'll take him on - and every one of the other firefighters that we've mentioned it to is completely supportive!! And in case you didn't know...our 17 year old has Down Syndrome!!

Too bad there wasn't more Depts. and/or Professions like yours around!! It's great that your son recognizes a fantastic career choice when he sees one! Wish I could say the same about my 17yr.old!! He wants to be a Paramedic - in Toronto that usually involves not much more than hanging out in various Emerg. depts. for approx 11 hours of a 12 hour shift!! No "patient dumping", don't you know!! All this when there is a 'reported' shortage of Emerg. responders on any given day!! Oh, don't you just LOVE City Hall??
