...is there an alternate route which you can take???

Yes, but going through the park already takes 40 minutes. Going the other way takes 50 minutes.

could you possibly walk with a group of friends, or perhaps, get a ride?? I, as a parent, would gladly PAY someone to have any child of mine brought safely home every day.....if fact, I set up a carpool system with my DS's friend's mom - she would pick them up every day and I would drive them TO school....just a suggestion, for a little piece of mind...
