He said that parrently 'back in the day', when people MY age got fillings [with silver], dentists drilled MORE than they had to because silver didn't BOND to teeth, so they would make a bigger hole to fill, causing the tooth wall to weaken. So, for folks in their late 30's and older, this is a common thing....

THAT'S CRAZY!!!! you know that might explain why my mom is having trouble with her old fillings

Well, I am trying to find something to do in Sheboygan Wisconsin on a Wednesday afternoon.

...I bit a hard piece of rice yesterday at dinner and cracked my tooth in HALF! Ptooey! YUCK! The nerve was exposed [didn't get to finish my meal! ] and had a terrible time at school today. The dentist [Dr. Bob] fitted my tooth for a crown, so I was at his office from 3:20 till almost 6:05!! The novacaine started wearing off a little while ago....

You poor thing! I hope it doesn't hurt too much one the novacaine wears off! I've cracked off so many of my teeth!!!!
