No. He had a stroke and than I got pregnant and had a miscarriage. He was so excited when we told him and CRIED like a baby when I lost it.

Than he passed away before I was able to get pregnant again.

But we have always talked to DD about him and we have pictures up. She calls my Mom Meme. So she has always called him Dede. :goodvibes

She knows him thru us.

...

I am sorry she never got to meet him, but with your help and your memories she will get to know him.

We do our best to talk about him a lot to her.

And she is lucky that DH's parents are still here. DH's Dad is 80 and Mom is 78.

My Grandmother is 93 and still active.

Exactly. When my Dad had his stroke he lost his speech. But Cuss words came out just perfectly. And he would say some really BAD ones in from of people and just sit and laugh like a little kid. That you couldn't help but laugh with him.

He would get a little boy smile on his face and you knew he was up to something BAD.

My aunt was like that! She lost her speech after her stroke and pretty much all she was able to say was, "Yep, yep, yep" and "No, no, no." Always three together. But she could still get those cuss words out! :lmao: She's been gone about ten years now. Funny how you remember things like that!

Those are the types of things that you can read once, and then remember bits and pieces of them when you're alone and have that quiet time to reflect and they help so much, even if you can't remember all the words.

Yeah, Kelli, thanks for posting them!

I printed them off and would sit and read them when I needed to reflect.

I would sit and read them to DD about the Dog and she would cry and than we would talk about the silly things the dog would do. And all would be okay in the end.

We always have to keep those memories alive. DD remembers my mom but that's the only grandparent she remembers. DH's dad died shortly after DD was born and his mom and my dad were gone before we were married! But the boys know all their grandparents through pictures and we'll always keep them a part of our lives!

The reason the cuss words come out so good is there is no thought process involved. The Dr. explained to us that to form a sentence or tell someone a word you have to think about it. And because that part of their brain was damaged they can't form the words. But the cuss word just come flying out. They don't think about. :confused3

OMG! A.J. just came downstairs with his backpack all ready to go and said, "Let's go. Vacation. Let's see Nana and Grandpa!"

I'm crying now but I don't want him to see and think that he's done something wrong. I'm so afraid that tomorrow he's going to see Grandpa in the casket and just think he's sleeping. We've talked a lot about it and I thought he was understanding.
