When I went in to be tested, I was around 28 and DH and I decided ahead of time if there was anything or even a "might" be something, the girls had to go. There wasn't a doubt for me..and DH agreed completely (although it might not have mattered to me if he didn't agree, still would have done it)...with two toddlers at the time, it wasn't worth it, JMHO.
I can still remember all that she went through. She wanted to have a masectomy and he said absolutely not! The thing that I could never understand was that she went along with HIS decision! I can't picture my DH ever putting me in any risk!
I had a tumor and an ovary removed back in 1991. At the time the doctor wasn't sure what kind or tumor it was and I went into surgery not knowing if I would have to have a complete hystorectomy or not. DH told the doctor to do whatever he needed to do, just to make me okay! I can still hear him telling the doctor he didn't care what had to removed or if we could have any more kids or not, just take care of me!
