It just won't get past asking me for the password, I know it's one of the last steps, but it won't let me past it. I tried not putting one, and it just stays where it is

Than if you got that far it might be something simple.

Give them a call.

My connection was messed up from the beginning.

That is when we found out the modem was configured wrong.

Than I continued to have problems because the modem would not release the IP address to the router.

I'm not sure what it is, b/c one time it got past the password, and it asked me for info I didn't have, so I had to call my isp and they gave me the info but they said my service might not allow it even with the info I'll have to call Linksys and see if they can fix it. I hate to think I spent all that money for no reason

I only got mine worked out because I was not going let it get the best of me.

Ok I got my pc connected to it, but now I'm trying to get my laptop connected

I knew you could do it.

You might want to log into the router and lock down the setting so that it is a secure site.


Your laptop should find a wireless connection for you and ask you if you want to connect to it.

I changed the name of my connection so I would know it was mine and not someone else's. And locked it down with password protection.

UUGGGHHHH!!! I get sooo close! now the router is set up but and my laptop shows it's connected but it won't bring up the internet

On your wireless connection manager it shows connected. But the internet will not come up.

You might need to log into the router and set it up first. Which one of the things I sent to you explains.

And I was right on the default password.
