the road into the parking lot was so flooded that it looks like a river flowing thru. People were stuck all over the road. Some cars had water in them it was so flooded and the cars are so low to the ground.

The tow truck driver said they were so busy at one point they were telling people to wait 3 hours.

The rain was so bad the roads were flooded. I took DD out of school 30 min. early to beat the rush and we where on our way to get gas and hit a small puddle on the end of the road and it blew water up and I lost the belt that controls the whole car. So Needless to say I had no power steering or anything. Pull into the nearest parking lot and call AAA. Which by the way is SUPER busy when you have to hold over 30 mins to get disconnected. Call back hold another 30 mins and than wait over an hour for the tow truck to tow us HOME!!!!!

So I am now home.

Oh, Kelli! I'm so sorry! How's DD taking it?? Will DH come home and get you guys now instead of heading over after work?

Kelli - I just got an email from a friend of mine down there. She said that the roof of Bed, Bath & Beyond (in Tyrone Square) had collapsed and that they were sending dogs in to look for people. She said the storms are terrible today. She lives right near Maderia Beach.

Yes he is on his way home to load everything up. I think we are going to hang out here and have dinner at the Japanse Steak house and than head over from there. NOW IS NOT A GOOD TIME TO LEAVE and try to get thru Tampa.

Right now it is. One belt run the whole entire system in the car. Power steering, temp. fan, and battery. So the belt is still there the water just pushed it off. But is has to go to be put back on. DH doesn't want to deal with it. so until Monday I will not have a car.

No we are waiting for DH to come and get us.

the trip is just delayed.

You forget how hard it is to turn a car when you don't have power steering. I was lucky it happened where it did. I was able to drive a little bit and get into a parking lot where we were safe.

You see I had planned to charge it when I was driving over there.
