What happened????

The other deputy went to a call and was shot from someone inside a mobile home as he was getting out of his car. He was shot in the side and the arm. He called for help and DH was next on the scene. The man holed up in his mobile home and they exchanged fire. From what I got from the news the standoff lasted almost three hours but I haven't heard that from DH. They had the Sheriff's Office, Boone (city) Police and SBI that responded.

as for the counceling I am not surprised DH probably won't go
we had it at the firedept after fatal fires or accidents
but I never went
just wanted to be home with family

my friend kim was killed in an accident and i saw it before it happend

My cousin Larry crashed his motorcycle into a horse I knew 15 minutes before

and several other things

just none in the past year or so
unless you count last nights dream

I know the time DH almost died in a truck accident i think i had more emotional baggage than he did

Isn't it strange the way we do things like that. I get feeling like that too, especially with certain people. There is a friend of ours that lives down in FL and whenever something is wrong down there I know and I'll call and she'll say, "you just knew, didn't you." And she does the same with us. She's actually older than us, she was a friend of my mom's.

everytime she got pregnant I knew first cause i got sick
and then I would call her and say your in Labor
How would i know??

I got horrible back labor 24 hours before she delivered each of her kids

so I say i have 2 kids but suffered 5 pregancies

I've decided to call the department around 7:30 if he's not home yet to see what time he'll be home. If it'll be a while I'm going to go on to work, if he'll be home shortly I'm gonna wait and call and tell my boss I'll be a little late and call the school and tell them A.J. will be late.

It's a delayed reaction with me. I got on here last night around 11:30 and no one was here but that was more just to pass the time.

Then I got on around three just after DH called and that was more to just talk 'cause I was shook up but glad to know he was okay.

This morning, though, it's all sinking in and I'm going through all the what if's. I had done good not crying but when you got on here and said you were here, what was the matter I started crying and haven't stopped much since. That's why if DH isn't home I need to go to work just to be around some people.

One of my friends has called already to make sure he is okay and she offered to come sit with me 'til he gets home. I don't think DH realizes how much it affects all of us!

I did tell the boys before they left for school. I hope they're okay. Matthew will be but Andrew had tears in his eyes. I assured them Dad was okay. I may call the guidance counselor, though, just in case.

I just wish I could talk to DD!
