I have had one of the longest nights I've had in a long time. I fell asleep sometime around 5 a.m. and the alarm went off at 5:30 a.m.!

I hate that when that happens. Then that next day is always a long one. I mean it literaly. It always happens the day before I know I won't be home before 10pm!!!!

I hope you don't have a lot to do today, and can get some rest. If you have to work, I hope its an easy day today.

One of the guys on Allen's shift last night was shot. He's okay. But DH was shot at too.

I do have to work today but will try to leave as soon as someone comes in that can run the office, probably around noon.

One of the guys on Allen's shift last night was shot. He's okay. But DH was shot at too.

OMG!!! How is DH holding up? is the other guy home or still in the hospital, how are you???

DH called at 3 a.m. to tell me what had happened (briefly) and said he was going to try to come home to get changed 'cause he was muddy. He still hasn't gotten home. I just want him to get home so I can hug him.

They had broken in to the 11 o'clock news last night and said that there was a situation in our county and several departments were responding and they would have the full story in the morning. I knew it had to be big because we don't have a local news channel, this was out of TN. We only get stations from TN and Charlotte.

So I just had to wait.

Counseling will be available but knowing him he won't want it. All he'll want is to come home and be with his family. That's the way he is. We've been through it before.

Thats the worst way to get anykind of news (or lack of news).

DH is prob being debreifed or something. I am sure he will be home soon if he said he was on his way.
