DH surprised me and took the day off work to take the boys Christmas shopping. DH is usually a shop on Christmas Eve or the day before Christmas Eve type of guy so this is a real shock. And I've got the whole house to myself and it is SOOOOOO quiet.

So much for the bubble bath. They just got home. Now I have to stay in the family room for a while so they can get everything hidden upstairs. Then maybe I'll take a bubble bath!

I love my family...but sometimes my sis is too much. She sold her house and now she, her DH and kids live with my parents and are building a new house really close to my parents, they bought a property nearby. We are a construction kind of family so they are literally building it themselves. My dad likes to eat lunch early (I am talking around 10:45 and my sis doesn't buy lunch until around 1 or 2:00!) and my mom doesn't complain, but I know she is exhausted from watching my nieces...so, usually each weekend when we can we go up there and I bring lunch for everyone and I watch the kids (mine included) to give my mom a break and DH helps my DBIL and dad with house. Well, yesterday I couldn't go up with DD sick and DS had a little runny nose, not bad, but I wanted him to rest. So, I put ribs in my slow cooker at 2:00 in the morning when I was up with DD and then at 5:00 or so in between being on the DIS I made rice and Christmas cupcakes. DH and his friend go up to my mom's to help my DBIL and Dad and take the food. I tell them to eat early....well, they had to wait for my sis to come home from shopping until after 1 p.m., there were an additional 2 or 3 guys that came and she didn't even bring more food and she didn't bring out the cupcakes either...poor guys were so hungry by the time they ate and their wasn't enough food and then, as my DH and his friend are leaving she sees them leaving and tells him something about getting my slow cooker, which I think she was too lazy to get....then, last night she dropped it and it broke and they threw it away I loved that crockpot and I got it for a steal at around $14...I don't think they make it anymore and the new ones are too fancy for me...She apologized and offered to buy a new one....but I am just so disappointed with her...and not only about my slow cooker since ***** happens, but with the way she is sometimes....sorry, long vent. I have been looking for a replacement of my simple 4 -qt. cutie and haven't found one yet

i know how it is my SIL is the same way
walks around with her head in the sand and just doesn't take other peoples feelings in to consideration

have you checked on ebay they may have the kind you are looking for
