I wanted to ask you, are you a firefighter and going to school????? Wow, you must be super busy! And your DH is Deputy and a firefighter???? He must be busy too!

I'm a volunteer firefighter and have been with the department for almost three years. I am also taking a firefighting class through our community college and am considering working toward an emergency management associates degree. I also work part-time as a bookkeeper in a grocery chain.

DH is a sheriff's deputy with the rank of sergeant. He's got 25 years in law enforcement. And if that isn't dangerous enough about five or six years ago he joined the fire department. He's a crew chief on the volunteer department and he is also a first responder for the department. Once in a while his jobs cross over. Last week he and another deputy on his shift got a formal commendation for going into a burning house to rescue two people. That was while he was on duty as a sheriff's deputy and he didn't have any of his fire gear with him! I'm very proud of him for that!

Wow. What a good man. Your community is lucky to have two people so dedicated to their job.
