They just gave an update on the FedEx plane...it had just landed and slid off the runway as it was coming in. The wheels have wedged into mud. There were no injuries. And - get this - they airport is still open but the "may be some delays."

Hello - um - you want me to get on a plane after another plane just slid on ice on the runway??? I don't think so!

When Northern NY was crippled a few years ago with Ice my Mom and Dad went up and worked some of the emergancy stations

It was so bad and paralyzing to the whole area

I pray we never see that much ice again


DH has to go to work at 3 am
I hate when he has to drive in bad storms

I am so glad my DH is off today. Although, it looks like we'll all be stuck in the house together!

How was the shopping trip

We didn't get much shopping done! We went to lunch and then went to the mall and pretty much just walked around talking. She's broke so I was going to help her get presents for my DH and the boys. But we just didn't see anything. We had a really nice time talking (and eating) though. Seems like whenever we get together we eat. And we end up eating the same. We went to TGIFridays and both ordered exactly the same thing!

No i just noticed when reading back that she most likely won't be here till 2 pr 3 cause she is going on a field trip with her DD

Yeah! We've come a long way in the past year. A year ago we could barely talk without fighting. Now things are pretty good. If she would dump her boyfriend things would be very good!

My Mom says we didn't get to be friends again really until I hit about 30

as for the boyfriend unfortuanly normally in those situations if you try to pull them apart you just push thme closer
hopefully she will see the light on her own

Driving DD's Class to a retiremenet Center for them to bring Holiday Cheer to the older people.

How old is she now???

Just turned 20 in October.

My Mom says we didn't get to be friends again really until I hit about 30

My mom and I were always close 'cause my dad died when I was only 14. When I was 16 mom got sick and our roles reversed in many ways. I went to school and took care of the house and all that stuff. She and I still had many of those "issues" that most moms and teenagers do. The year after I got married she got sicker and couldn't live alone any longer so she moved in with DH and I. We were very close then and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful DH to put up with his MIL living with him! Next to DH, mom was my best friend. She got to live with us and see our kids (only DD and one DS at the time) on a daily basis. When she couldn't get out of bed DD would climb into bed with her and one of them would read to the other. DH and I took care of mom for about 4-1/2 years before she passed away and I can honestly say I lost one of my best friends ever, not just my mom.

Yeah, DH and I have finally realized if we say anything negative it pushes her closer to him and further from us. So, we're just patiently waiting for her to see the light. Right now, I think she's starting to see a glimmer of that light. DH says it's just my wishful thinking. But we won't have anything to do with him and that's hard all the way around. She still comes home for holidays rather than spending them with him. I told DH that if BF really meant all that much to her she would be spending time with him on the holidays.

Congratulations on having a dressed tree. Did you do it or did the tree fairy?? We're going to hound you to post a picture!!!

How nice! I'm sure the people at the retirement center will enjoy that and will appreciate it. I can still remember when I went to a retirement center to do that in grade school. Have fun!
