Last minute trip, waitlist - Any chance?

Just this morning I booked a last minute trip to WDW over the 4th of July week. I got a studio at SSR for the 4th-7. We would like to get there the 3rd, but they had nothing available in a studio for that Monday. I am waitlisted for ANY studio for the night of the 3rd. Do you think I have ANY chance of getting a studio for the 3rd (Monday) at this late date? The MS woman was very nice (Sheila) and said I could keep checking, (I have it for automatic booking if something shows up) which I plan on doing. Also checking my vacation listing on the DVC member site. She said things change minute by minute. Gosh I hope it's a possibility!

Yes! You have a chance, I just got my 7/2 night to add to 7/3, 7/4, 7/5, 7/6 this afternoon! Been waitlisted for a little over a week.

Double check and make sure you know what day they take you off the wait list if it does not fill right away.

In most cases you are dropped from the wait list 31 days before your reservation kicks in. Since you are going on the list so late, they will probably drop you one week out (7 days) if it has not been filled.

I think you will get your room, but keep checking with MS every few days to nudge them along. You may also want to consider asking them if they have any cash reservations left. If they do, consider paying for the one night you need.

If you really want to go on the 3rd book a cash ressie somewhere and have your bags transferred the next day. Cash ressies you can cancel 48 hours in advance.

Keep checking...I just called this morning, and they had some nights available the week of the 25th that I was able to book! Didn't expect those in a million years, they weren't on my waitlist either, but I snagged them!! I'm still waiting for 2 more nights in July to link to my reservation at the BWV. The very nice, helpful MS told me to ask at check-in if any last minute cancellations came up too.
Within 7 days of the date, there isn't a waitlist and someone at the frontdesk should know how to apply your points to the reservation if it's available to book and MS is closed.--I'm not sure I understood her correctly, but if my waitlist doesn't come through by 7 days out, I'm going to ask at check-in.

I still need a grand villa for July 4th at Old Key West to complete my ressie. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed. If I get the GV, it will free up a studio and 2BR for that night.

I spoke with DVC yesterday and they had GV at SSR. I know it's not OKW but wanted to give you some hope that there are GVs (or at least there were) available ofor the 4th. Good luck!

A great Ding came along two weeks ago and we are taking a last minute trip to my Dsis in Tampa. Decided to treat all of us to a DVC stay for two nights. Was able to get a 2 bedroom for July 2nd at OKW and we are on a waiting list for the 7/3. I am also willing to switch to two studios anywhere if I can get both of those nights. No luck so far and I am calling everyday as well, just in case. If nothing opens up for the 3rd, we'll just head back to Dsis's house and hang at her pool!
