We are trying to plan a trip to WDW for 10/30-11/05 to celebrate my daughter graduating from Air Force basic training and tech school. She will be home and this is where she wants to go. I know about the Armed Forces Salute discount for tickets and we will be using that. We have not been since 2013 and that was before magic bands and I think I had that trip planned months and months in advance with a binder to prove it! We have planned NOTHING for this trip because we really thought she may change her mind on where she wanted to go for this vacation. Any tips on a short notice trip? We will probably stay at Shades of Green or a Disney resort. I'm kind of freaking out because I am normally a way in advance planner. So far it will only be me, DH, and DD18 - DS21 doesn't like Disney, but we may take grandson age 6 if his parents will allow.

Fun! I'm about 2 weeks into planning for a relatively last minute November trip as well, and I can tell you to IMMEDIATELY book hotel/resort reservations first. I literally couldn't get anything on site for mid November so make sure there's availability in a price range and location you're fine with first. We had to go off site (which was fine as I used Marriott points so it's free and makes it worth the hassle). Next step, get dining reservations since you're within the window. Other than that I really think you'll be fine!! Just read up on touringplans.com for magic band info and such so you'll be ready for FastPass reservations.

Last minutes trips are soooo different but also really fun!!

First thing - Get as much as you can lined out (hotel, dining fastpasses). If you don't get anything "good" - DO NOT FREAK OUT! I don't know if people drop at last minute or if Disney releases new reservations last minute but opening happen 24-48 hours before. I scored some pretty hard to get last minute fastpasses and dining reservations this way.
