We just booked our trip to WDW yesterday for next week through United Vacations. We will be staying at All Star Movies. I have a couple questions though. Will we be getting magic bands at the resort when we check in? Also, I plan to buy us e tickets through undercover tourist but how do i go about linking them to get fastpasses if i don't have a magic band yet? Thanks.

Your MBs will be given to you at the Resort.

Nothing gets linked to your MBs. Your MB provides the link to your data in MDX.

Link your tickets to your My Disney Experience (MDX) account. As soon as they are linked, book your FPs.

Cool, so all I have to do is link the e tickets purchased from UT to My Disney Experience account? Do I need to create an account for each member of our party to link our tickets together to get fastpasses for all of us? Sorry for the questions but I haven't been to WDW since 2012 lol.

You do not have to make accounts for everyone - as long as you add them as family and friends. Then link their e-tickets on your account to each of them. Then you will be able to make FPs. Enjoy the quick trip. I love it when you don't have to wait for a trip.

Thank you all for the help. It seems much has changed since 2012. So when we receive our magic bands at our resort they will be linked to our fastpasses that I made through my disney experience automatically?

Yes.

It definitely has changed. The app does make it easier - but you have to make decisions in advance. Yes - it all will be linked. Enjoy!

Also, should I book magical express online? Or should I wait until I get to the airport and talk to them there because I know the vouchers won't come in the mail in time. Thanks.

Just FYI; My Disney Experience (MDE or MDX) is the "hub" of everything. Tickets are linked to MDE, FP's to MDE, Magic Bands to MDE, ADR's to MDE, Rooms, etc... So, FP's are in MDE and your magic bands will be linked to MDE; FP's are not linked directly to bands, which is why you can use any band or hard ticket linked to MDE to get in the park and to utilize FP's, as long as they are all put into your account on MDE.

In short you can double check everything through the MDE App or website; your tickets, your FP's, your room reservation, your ADR's, pictures through photopass photographers, etc... And, just so you know it can get glitchy sometimes, so some patience (and every once in a while a call to Disney to straighten things out) is required.

Yes, go ahead and make a reservation with Magical Express. That technically is needed for a "free" lift from the airport. You'll just go to one of the welcome center kiosks and let them know you don't have the paperwork. It's helpful to make sure you have your resort confirmation number (which you should be able to find in MDE once your reservation is linked) to show them if they need it.

Fastpass reservations allow for three advance reservations per day. After you finish your third fastpass you can then try for more on the go.

Please understand that onsite guests and Disney Springs resorts make their fastpass plus reservations 60 days in advance.

Off site guests get a 30 day window to do it.

I don't want to rain on your parade but you are obviously pass both fastpass reservation dates. This will probably make it very difficult to get fastpasses on prime attractions especially for desirable times. Hollywood Studios will probably be a nightmare with the new attractions there. Also, there is a tier level system with the rides. You are only allowed one, tier one ride for your advance reservations.

My best suggestion for you is to take advantage of extra magic hours that onsite resort guests get. We feel the extra magic morning hour is the best.

The first go round doing this fastpass system can be a shock. One stradegy is to keep checking and checking many times and many days before you get there. People cancel or change their mind on attractions; so, you have a chance to snag some good ones if you are persistent.
