I just conceived of the idea of taking my 8yr. old son for a private trip with me (Mom) over his spring break/birthday/I love you celebration - last week. We have 3 boys and sometimes the only way to provide the one-on-one time is to do these special, individual things.

With your tremendous help, I have planned the following itinerary - any suggestions are appreciated! I realize this is ambitious but we will adjust when we realize we are too tired!Q

Tuesday 3/9: Arrive in Orlando at 7:40 a.m. Transportation to Coronado Springs - check in and stow luggage.

Head to Magic Kingdom
Lunch at Casey's for a hot dog
5:30 - 6:00
Take monorail to Polynesian (try to get son to pilot the rail!)

6:20 ressies at O'Hanas for dinner
8:00 Watch Wishes Nighttime
Spectacular from Poly Beach

Back to hotel

Wednesday 3/10:
Mears transport to Universal /IOA - be there by 9 a.m.

Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe

Home when tired to CSR - dinner at Pepper Market - swim at Coronado's famous pool

(could go to Epcot Illuminations at 9 p.m. if not too tired)

Thursday 3/11:

8:00 a.m. ressies at Donald's Breakfastasaurus Animal Kingdom

9:00 - 9:30 entry to AK- stay till 1:00

1:00 or so head to Blizzard Beach until closing at 5:00

Back to CSR to eat and relax....or rather, fall down dead.

Friday, 3/12:

Check out - stow luggage; head to MGM

12:00 ressies at Sci-Fi for burgers, fries and milkshakes and campy films

Epcot for afternoon

5:00 ressies at Teppenyaki (son's favorite - for 9th birthday)

Flight at 10:10
:wave2:

That is a great thing for MOM to do for the 8 yr old.

Sounds like fun to me.

Happy Birthday to the 8 yr old.

That's a great idea! I'm doing the same thing in a couple weeks with my 4yo. He has 3 older siblings and it will be fun having some time with just him. We'll be gone for a week with two of those days at Universal.

Tigger & Belle,
Awesome! I feel a bit guilty leaving my 4 year old and 12 year old when I know they would love it - but they will get their private times too! My oldest wants to go hunting/fishing/white water rafting and in - a- cabin trip with Dad! Have an excellent trip...".these are the days we'll remember..":goodvibes

Jake still doesn't know that I'm bringing him to WDW. We talk about Universal and WDW a lot (one of his preschool friends is going in a couple of days so Jake has really been thinking about it), but I hope to wait until about a week out to tell him or he'll drive me crazy wanting to go.

My older kids are a bit jealous, but the funny thing is that my 10yo was only a little jealous (was more excited for Jake than jealous), my 13 yo a bit more, but my 16yo was green with envy, even though she is going on a ski trip right after I get back. I think she's like me--never wants to be left behind. lol
