I understand your apprehension as I just found myself in the very same situation less than 2 weeks ago. It was not a spur of the moment trip to WDW but to Hawaii. Some of my family was already going to be there for the week and my cousins fiance has access to comapnion travel tickets on United. So with less than a week to go (4 days to be exact) we said the heck with it and jetted to Hawaii for 4 1/2 days.
So go for it. Sometimes the long awaited anticipation of pre planned trips often make the trip itself anti-climactic. With no expectation, this may be your best trip yet!!

LOL go and have a great trip and get away from this cold for a few days. We did a spur of the moment trip about 4 years ago, for spring break. It was wonderful, especially since I didn't have months, weeks or even days to stress myself out by planning everything.
