Last minute trip ... 8 days out...

We are planning a last minute trip and will be leaving May 7th. I have started calling around for reservations and realize it is useless. So tell me what does one do is they want the DP and can't get ressies?! We have used the plan before but have never had this situation... anyone?

How many TS credits? What places have you already tried for? Where are you staying ? Make up of your group (kids, adults, teens, etc.). I'm a half full kind of person so I will come back with some suggestions.

Keep calling! I called and two or three days out I was able to get an ADR i wanted. Also the resort TS restaurants may have openings.

We are staying at SSR and there are 5 of us, though we are meeting up with my cousins who total 11. They are staying off grounds and we will probably just do some counter meals with them. So far I could only get ressies for 1 dinner at Norway...

I say keep trying too, there are always cancellations, try for a late unch or later dinner.

I would make ADR's for some of the less popular restaurants. Then I would keep trying to call to get the restaurants of my choice.

A CM told me that if it is a restaurant that does NOT require a deposit to be placed, the liklihood of cancellations is higher than those that DO require a deposit.

This may also be a great time to try some "New" places on your trip! I know that on our trip in Aug/Sept. we are going to some places we have never tried before!!!

Maybe they can just tell you what restaurants have openings for your days and pick from that. If they will do that?

Thank you everyone! After a few not so helpful CMs, I got a treasure this morning in Marilyn! She was wonderful and I now have a sit down ressie for each day we are there and they are places I really want to got to. So thanks everyone for your advice and thank you Marilyn for your patience!

Well, congrats!

Just an FYI...room only ressies need to be cancelled 6 days out, so some of those spots may have come from folks cancelling trips. However it occurred I'm glad you got what you wanted and wish you a Magical trip!
