Hi everyone. I have decided to take a trip to WDW this upcoming weekend. I have days off from work and my husband and son do not, so it will be my first solo trip to WDW. I will be using some comp tickets that I got from a trip a few years back. I called today to verify they are still valid and they are. The tickets are for 1 park per day, so no hopping. Plus, I cannot book FP+ in advance. I am hopeful for short lines at rope drop and single FP+ throughout the day.

Does anyone have any tips for same day FP+?
Any tips for traveling to WDW alone?

So excited!

I'm not very familiar with those tickets, so I'm surprised you aren't able to book FP+ in advance. Either way, do get same day Fast Passes you just have to be a little patient. The big headliners are a little harder to get, but everything else is doable, especially if you utilize the refresh method. I've found that checking in the morning after the park opens is a good time to find some openings, as that's when people start changing their plans.

I did my first solo trip earlier this year over a busy holiday weekend. I was only in the parks half days as I had conference meetings in the mornings, yet I was able to get FPs for all the headliners and everything I wanted to do with a little patience and frequent refreshing. You can move so much quicker solo (weaving through crowds) and really accomplish a lot! Or take your time and go at a relaxed pace....you can literally do whatever YOU want!

My tips:
- create a basic list/outline of rides/shows/snacks that you want to accomplish. Personally I made a brief bucket list of items I had never done before, or I didn’t think my family would want to do so it gave me some purpose/tasks to check off each day
- bring a portable charger/battery for your phone bc if you are on MDE frequently it drains your battery life fast
- when searching for difficult FP, if a ride comes up you want(ex: SDD) but with a time later than desired(ex. 8pm) grab it anyway. Once you have the FP secured it’s much easier to keep refreshing in order to change it to an earlier time slot. Don’t stress about getting same day fast passes, it’s fairly easy when looking for just 1
- don’t forget about rides that offer separate single rider lines (TT, RnRC, EE), but also be alert when getting close to CMs in every other line since they will often call for any solo riders and you can easily get ahead of 10-15 people waiting with their groups.

Have fun and live in the moment knowing you can move at YOUR OWN pace and just do whatever YOU choose! Enjoy your ME time!

Did a 1 1/2 day solo SEP 20th. Note that this is a slower time of the year, but still pretty busy. I was able to get a FOP FP, Navi, 7 Dwarfs, and a few others. I was at Studios for the EEMH, so rode all Toy Story Land at 7am, so I can not report on those attractions.

Bring a phone charger! I travel solo alot and don't normally do this - but when you are going to need to keep looking for FP's all day - it's worth it. Don't book one TOO late in the day early in the day if you want to try to get more than 3. I find, however, it's tough to get any FP after about 2pm - so don't assume there will be any FP's to get for the park at all after 4pm. You might - but don't assume.

Pick your one park based on what YOU want to do. It's a solo day - make yourself happy! If you are going to make it a LONG day - meaning at least an hour before RD until they are kicking you out of the shops - I'd suggest booking an ADR for a late lunch or early dinner.

I NORMALLY carry very little because it makes me sore for the next day - but with one day - I might carry a small backpack because I don't care if I'm sore the next day!!!! That way - you can carry the poncho, the charger, the water, the snacks, the layer if you get cold inside, carry purchases.

After that initial RD frenzy - spend 5-10 really looking at the Times Guide to make sure you understand the "last times" you could do something you might want to do that day.

Have a blast!

Make sure to book your 3 FP as soon as you enter the park. I go solo all the time and I find it so much fun you can do what you want when you want.

Agree with booking your FPs as soon as you get in the park. Availablilty of FPs will depend on what park you pick. MK seems to have more same day available.
You should be able to pre book dining if you wish. I have gone solo and had no issues dining alone. Wait staff were very attentive.
You will enjoy doing what you want when you want.

I go solo a lot. You will be amazed how much you can cover when it's just yourself. Linger where you want, zip by places you want. Just enjoy yourself.

Definitely take a battery charger! I take my backpack with anything I might need/want especially if you're in 1 park all day & don't have to worry about going thru security multiple times. Water, snacks, extra shirt or layer, rain gear.
