OK I'm gonna do it!! I'm going to leave my children behind & make a last minute trip to the World, SOLO!! I've been needing a little getaway, just some time to myself to destress. So I took a Southwest credit from my parents for my full airfare, found a park hopper w/ one day left & found a code on mousesavers that was good for 3 nights @ POP for a total of $270. I will purchase an additional one day ticket.

Here's where the need for advice comes in:

I have never travelled alone. I have all the confidence in the world in myself that I can handle this, I mean I've only been to Disney 23 times, plus a cruise last fall. Would any of you recommend certain restaurants where sitting alone is comfortable?

TIA

I've been to WDW solo 11 times. Of course, my feelings and reactions as a childless, unmarried guy might be different from yours, but the logistics of travelling solo apply equally.

I have never felt awkward in any WDW restaurant, eatery, resort, or park on my own, so don't worry that you will feel out of place. Nobody will even notice that you're by yourself, so just relax and enjoy.

The best part of solo travelling is that you can do what you want, when you want, how you want, so I recommend picking a few restaurants that you have always wanted to try, but couldnt because of your family's preferences, or the expense of taking a whole family there, or any other reason, and go for it. There is nobody else there whose preferences you have to cater to, and you're only paying for one person, so try some places that you've never been able to try before.

Here's my favorite restaurants when I'm solo:
MK - Love the Columbia Harbor House. Usually grab a tuna sandwich and head upstairs to a table by a window - great people watching!!
Epcot - I like to head to the Land to Sunshine Seasons - great selection and can usually find a seat over by Living with the Land to people watch.
AK - Hands down - the Flame Tree BBQ. Grab some ribs and head down by the water to eat.
DHS - I like the Prime Time, but when solo I head to the bar and eat there.

Will be back again in just over a month - might be solo if you are headed down then and want to meet up!!

Thanks for all the advice. I will be there 4/17-4/20. I think in epcot, I may just eat (& drink) my way around the showcase, as I've always wanted to do this, but the kids wanted something a little more structured.

I'm really VERY excited!!!!
