Last Minute Reservation Success

Every now and then someone posts on if you can get last minute reservations.

I had a reservation for April (I was combining this with a trip to visit my Dad)

Due to the sale of my house and pending move there is NO way I can go to Orlando in April, May is out due to other committements etc.

SO I called today and got my reservation moved to this weekend at SSR (which was what I requested) with no problem.

Not as "last minute" as some of my reservations but...

We planned a last minute trip last month over the MLK weekend-- we decided to go on Monday, and were leaving on Thursday night.

We tried all week to get something at a DVC resort, any resort, but could only get one or two of the nights. But, we were persistent and on Friday afternoon (while standing outside of the Mexico pavilion at Epcot) were finally able to book for three nights. We ended up at BCV for Friday night, VWL on Saturday night and OKW on Sunday night.

During my many phone calls trying to get a room, I did notice that not all the MS reps were as helpful as others. For example, I had some reps who would find one night and then put me on hold to find other nights, and told me they were calling the resort to see if there was anything available. Other times, I had a rep who just immediately told me "there's nothing available at all this weekend" without even checking. I realize they probably handled other calls with similar requests, but it seems to me that availablility changes and they could at least have checked. I guess I could have pushed the issue with them and asked that they check, but didn't bother to do so.
