Last minute questions

A few questions as we head out this week.

1) Have they used VQ on Hagrids any time recently? I'm guessing this weekend will be busy, so any chance?

2) Where can I see if there's any kind of light show on the castle at night?

3) I'm still unclear on the vouchers for breakfast at 3 Broomsticks and Leaky Cauldron. Have those been required lately? And does anyone know if each person needs them (as in, could we share a meal between the 2 of us)?

VL has been used certain days lately. It just depends on crowd levels.

There is a light show on select nights only during non-holiday times. It runs from dusk to park close, approximately every 20 minutes. Check the app to see if it's happening on the days you're going.

The non-holiday Howarts Lights projection show was done last night. I looked in the morning and it wasn’t in the app so it totally surprised us that it was running. I don’t know if or when they’re going to run it again.

Hagrid’s has not been VQ since before Christmas sometime. It was 120 mins most of the day yesterday and 150 today so having long lines isn’t triggering it right now. You may want to check out the thread about it being taken out of early entry. It’s been opening before 9 and there are some tips for catching it.
Here now and I’m honestly kind of surprised by how busy it is. It’s not Christmas busy but more then I was expecting.

Edited to add that the lowest wait times we’ve seen for Hagrid’s have been dinner time until park close. Velocoaster seems to go up in wait time toward park close. Mid morning is a good time to catch it (35-40 min waits).

What’s up with those wait times? I thought early January after the holidays was supposed to be a slow time. I’ve been checking out the app, and the wait times seem on par with much “busier” times and nary a VQ in sight. Are lines slower because rides are not running at full capacity due to lower crowds, or is it still just that busy?

it’s actually busy. My kids schools have this week off. It looks like they aren’t the only ones. We normally go up Universal the weekend before Thanksgiving and this week has been every bit as busy as that weekend.

Hagrid’s has been running with 4 and 5 trains and there were at least 4 on the velocicoaster track yesterday (there was a brief stoppage and we were all backed up together). Park hours are a little shorter though.

For anyone’s planning purposes, next year is the same situation for our kids’ districts so it may not be slow the first week of Jan then either.
