Need some advice here, going to OKW 1/17-1/22 need to get park passes and am wondering if anyone knows what's best:
Thinking of getting the 5 day plus passes....
A. Is American Express offering any discounts at this time?
B. Am a current member of AAA
C. Join DC for $30 and take their discount

Also, because of flight schedules (frequent flyer-5 free tix, not complaining) we have to stay another night in WDW (oh well..lol) I don't want to use my DVC points for another night but would instead like to stay someplace like maybe the Dolphin or Swan (because of their location) does anyone know of any good deals out there right now. We're open to suggestions on where to stay I'm just thinking if I have to leave a beautiful resort I don't want my last night in WDW to be a bummer.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
PT

Call your AAA office...they may have the best deal on the 5 day pass.

We've stayed at both CBR and CS...both are nice and inexpensive. We have also done Priceline and got the Wyndham Palace near DTD for $40....but you're not guaranteed which hotel that way. I had actually been hoping for the Swan. You could always call CRO and see about discounts on the other deluxes too.

See you at WDW! We arrive on the 20th at VWL!

Since you will be there for a week and you are thinking about plus passes, why not do the UMP (length of stay) and get the 10% DVC discount?

Lesley,
Thank you I'll try those places although I do want to be in the park so we don't have to waste a day "moving" I would like to have the option of checking out early, having luggage sent to another hotel/resort and getting back at out leisure......

Diane,
What is the UMP and who do I contact about getting it? Do they work like the hopper passes (no expiration) my thought on the 5 day plus passes was use 3 out of the 5 days this trip (bringing Mom, 70, 3 days is about her limit), visit during the warmer weather next trip, use the additional 2 days plus have 2 days for water parks. Would the UMP passes do that?

I am curious do you need the plus? We went in Nov and got 5 day Park Hopper for $200 from AAA. Depending on where you want to go on the plus it might be cheaper to get a ticket for that place. Just a thought.

DaveH,
I checked with AAA just this morning and they told me the only pass they offer here in southern New England is the 4 day hopper and that is $200.00, you got a 5 day for the same price?, that's interesting...I'm gonna have to throw a post out there to see what the rest of the country is paying.
As far as the "plus" goes, my kids will want to go to Typhoon Lagoon on a warmer visit so that right there makes up the difference of the price of the plus (@$30.00) so yeah I do think it is worth it, unless???....the 2 "plus admissions" that go with the hoppers don't expire do they? I know the park admissions don't.
