Last minute planning advice!

We are expecting a nice check any time now but probably not untill mid may. Due to everyones scedule, we are planning a trip for the end of May. Only problem is we are relying on this money to pay for everything!!
unfortunately we will be faced with possibley not having the funds until possibley one week before we leave for florida!!

My question is, What is my best route for planning this trip? I already have reservation for hotel made and have decided what tickets we will need to buy. But I will have to have them delivered to my hotel etc, Since we will be so short on time.

What should I be planning for (that doesnt require prepayment) and have any of you basically had to throw a trip together like this?
We have been to disney before, so at least I have a little experience under my belt.!!

I've done this, it's possible. It pretty much just goes the same route as any other trip. Since most things don't require prepayment anyhow. If you are flying that is going to be the biggest problem. Charge the airfare now if need be-- if you wait to 1 week out the rates are gonna be awful. If you need a rental-- reserve now. Most companies don't require a deposit. Then plan just as you would for any other Disney trip.

We are Driving, so no airfare to worry about. I am going to try to squeeze a few dollars out of my budget for some food vouchers, but that might not even be possible. It is scary, on our previous trip we had everythng paid for etc before we got there. Im afaraid Im going to forget something!

Is using a credit card an option for you? I can understand if it isn't because it's so easy to go over budget when you're using plastic. But if you have a major credit card, try this trick that we used when we were first married and were expecting a refund check.

I took Monopoly money in the amount of the refund check with me in an envelope marked "Available Funds". Everytime something went on the credit card, I transferred that amount in Monopoly money into an envelope marked "Money Spent". This gave me an idea of how much I'd spent and how much money remained.

If I was concerned about how much money was left, I only had to count the money in the "Available Funds" envelope to know what I could afford. It kept me well within my budget, although I did look a little funny walking around with envelopes full of Monopoly money!
