Last minute ME and Luggage??

We are flying into MCO this weekend. We did not plan on using Magical Express but now that has changed. I called MS today and was told that as long as our name was on the ME list ahead of time (which it now is), our baggage could still be pulled by ME. Of course we would have to check in at the counter first and give them our baggage claim tickets-blah, blah, blah.

BUT, I thought I saw somewhere back that this was stopped and if you did not allow enough time to receive your vouchers that you'd have to pull your own luggage and carry it on ME. Did I misunderstand this?

I just don't want to drag kids across the airport to ME and then have to go back and get the luggage ourselves anyway. Does anyone know if MS is right? She seemed pretty confident when I questioned her.

I think I'd pull my own luggage just to be safe. I don't know why they couldn't email a reasonable facsimile of the tag that we could print out ourselves. That would be pretty simple.

We have used ME for the last three years (about 6 trips), and I have never once received my luggage tags, even if we booked months in advance. We check in at the counter, give them my luggage info, and have never once had a problem with them getting my luggage.
Do whatever makes you comfortable - it doesn't take long to grab your luggage and take it with you, but with kids it's so much easier just to have the carry-ons and let them get your luggage for you.

I guess we will "wing it" and see how it goes.
