Happy Holidays everyone. I am trying to convince DH to go to Disney/Universal 12-31-05 to 01-01-06 but he is complaining that the parks will be to full and that there are no resorts left to reserve. Does anyone know of a decent hotel. It does not need to be a Disney resort (since I know that everything I can afford is booked already) just something that is clean and decent is fine. Last time we stayed offsite the resort was horrible, Any suggetsions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Don't be so sure you can't find something affordable. I just booked a room for myself on 12/31 and 1/1 at AS Sports a few days ago.. i just kept calling and calling. Oh.. and a money saving tip.... book the 2 days as separate ressies as 12/31 is High season and 1/1 is value! I got 12/31 for 134 and 1/1 for 77 I know that Radisson Resort Parkway has availability right now also.. if you want to stay offsite.. and the hotel is not far fromDisney and about $99 per night. Sheraton Safari also has rooms.. but they are a little more money. Sheraton studios had availability also.. that is closer to Universal..

Just go to travelocity or hotelkingdom.com... do a search.. you will find some places. I did! Good luck! and Happy Holidays!

What about the Radisson Resort Parkway? It is listed on www.mousesavers.com as one of Mary's preferred hotels and it looks really nice. It is also very close to the parks. :)

12/31 will be crowded- but many people go home on 1/1-- so that might not be so bad afterall. I would really start searching because I think you might be suprised by what you'll find.

HiK3, Looking at availability at the hotels you can book through Dreams Unlimited Travel I found several hotels still having availability for that time frame.

Buena Vista Suites-( They have a great free breakfast buffet for all that are in the room)

Radisson- Great hotel that is close to Disney and this hotel features free transportation to Disney parks, Seaworld and Universal) It also has free internet high speed in all rooms.

We were there two years ago on 1/1 and found the early morning hours to be quiet. I guess others stayed out later than we did. Beginning mid-afternoon, things got much more crowded.

Still, for two nights, I'm inclined to agree with your husband. I think I'd pick a quieter time.
