Nothing like waiting till the last minute, but...

We're heading down to HH later this week and are taking our bikes for the first time. I've looked all over the net for Island Bike Path Maps but haven't found any. Can anyone point me to a link?

What about bike trips you've taken on HH originating from Disney that would be appropriate for two "weekend warriors" and a five and seven year old?

Also, I swear I saw a list somewhere on this site listing the essentials for DVC trips but can't find it anywhere. Again, any help would be appreciated.

We'll be staying in a 1 BR and would like a room on the pool side of the boardwalk. Can you make specific room requests? Can't remember.

We're leaving next Friday and will be driving for the first time. It's an eleven hour trip (although we're breaking it up into two days) and our previous record for drive time with the kids is five hours. Wish us luck with both the drive and the weather. Since these are the two things not left to Disney, we can't be assured they'll be exceptional ;).

As we used to say in the military; Only five more days and a wake-up.

I hope you get this before you leave for HH. You can buy a map at the official HH visitor's center that shows the "official" bike paths on the Island. You won't need a map for the paths at the resort since it's small and easy to navigate.

Hope you have a great time!

Most of the official bike paths are in Sea Pines Plantation. The bike rental places will provide a map of the trails, but they are pretty easy to find on your own also.

Sea Pines is a good distance from Palmetto Dunes (where HH/DVC is located), but you can ride there also. (You will have to ride over some pretty heavily traveled and congested roadways to get to Sea Pines, however.)

Each Plantation has quiet areas where bikes can be ridden without much trouble, but Sea Pines has true bike trails which wind around and thru the residential areas. I'm not aware of any online maps, but they are available at HH.

Enjoy!

Hi Jeff,

We are also heading to Hilton Head this coming weekend. We check in on Sunday and can't wait.

We made a quick stop in March on the way home from WDW and picked up a few booklets which showed a map of bike trails, but not very detailed. We are renting bikes from the resort. Bikes are also permitted on the beach which I think will be lots of fun....

We will be going with our two boys, ages 11 and 12, so we will probably head out with no plans and just see where we end up :D I have heard many times that Sea Pines is beautiful!! We are definatly heading there on bikes.

There is a thread on this board that lists HH activites from a few weeks ago.....looks like lots of fun.

I hope we have great weather next...it has been cool and rainy here.

Have a wonderful trip!!!!
Karen

Just a quick note to say thanks. We'll look for the maps once we get there.
