Last minute GF questions?

We are staying at the GF from6/23-7/1.
Does anyone know where the laundry is located at the resort? Are there laundry facilities in every building or just one place?
Also, I read on these boards that they will give the kids their own little robes. Do I need to call ahead and request this?? Thanks for all the help.


We're going to Disney in 18 days!!! For the very first time!!

Hi Nancel.5 & Donamomma,

Our party stayed at the GF late Sept. of last year. I'm pretty sure there are laundry rooms in each of the buildings. We stayed in Big Pine Key. The laundry room is located on the first floor, cross the lobby from the front door and it is the first room on the left.

We called for a child's robe. They discontinued the children's size robes! It wasn't a big deal to us. The towels are big and plush. The little 4 yr old in our party loved them just fine.

We loved the GF. I'm sure you will too. Loved the quiet pool and the convenience of the monorail. The resort and grounds are lovely.

Nancel.5, like Annemariec posted, there are laundry facilities in each of the GF buildings. My husband has done laundry in the main building and in Conch Key (he's the Domestic Goddess in my family).

In all of my GF stays (and that has been over quite a few years now), there has never been a child-sized robe in any of our rooms or suites. I believe my husband actually called Housekeeping during our very first stay and requested one, and they told him that they didn't exist but they would be more than happy to send up another adult-sized robe.

I'll have to ask my husband. I do remember walking down the hall and my son popped open a door and we saw some washers & dryers. I thought it was funny that anyone would want to do laundry while on vacation. Well, as fate would have it, you live & learn! My husband seems to have done a lot of laundry on our WDW vacations over the past few years (hey, better him than me!).

The laundry facilities in the main building are located by the back elevators on the second floor (I think it is 2). My hubby had laundry duty, too, and I never saw them, so this is based upon his report. You cannot reach them by taking the main elevators (we learned that the hard way! ) You have to take the back elevator by the marina/the grill. I think that he said there was only one washer and dryer in the main building. (I assume that is true, although I suspect he wanted me to appreciate his work! )
