Hello!!
only 1 FULL day left before we leave home at 4:30 AM  Friday for WDW :cool1: So little time but so much to still do....

I will (hopefully) arrive at WL by 4:30pm on Friday. After a little rest from the long day's journey, I want to take my parents over to MK via the boat to get my Dad & our military tickets validated. I have two questions. Is there a liquor store at any of the resorts on the monorail that would sell bottles of wine for our villa? And without ADR's is there any off the beaten path spots for dinner. I don't want to do fancy, just not busy and expensive but somewhere to soak in the atmosphere at Grand Floridian or the Polynesian? Any suggestions?

Thanks!!! Can't wait.

Since you say you don't want to do fancy or expensive, I assume you mean a counter service. Check allearsnet.com. If you go to their dining page, they have a link to all the menus. GF, Polynesian and Contemporary all have counter service, and maybe that will help you decide.

Which villa are you staying in? It sounds like WL or BLT - you can ask on the DVC boards for help also -

I know upstairs at Polynesian they sell beer and wine - (in 2004 when we stayed they even uncorked it for me!) I know that downstairs is where the Polynesian's food court is - you could order and eat outside on their patio - and maybe catch the fireworks!!

If you are at Boardwalk - it is a real close walk out the back by the parking - and across the street to the Hess Station for purchasing beer and wine for the villas - I've done that also! The beer prices are cheaper at Hess!

Also, when you go to Epcot you can buy bottles of wine and take it back to the villa as well!

(the Kona is also upstairs, as is Ohana - both are usually full and dont take walk ups - but you never know you could ask at the podium)

I'm not familiar with Grand Floridian -

You can buy beer and wine in most of the resort gift shops on the MK side - the one upstairs at the Poly has a refrigerator section as does the one at WL, and I'm assuming the same applies for GF and CR. The CS at Poly is pretty decent - or you could eat at the bar from the bar menu at the Tambu Lounge in the Poly, the Wave at CR, or Territory Lounge at WL. All are pretty good, but it's going to be bar food versus entrees, if that works for you. I've always found that to be more than enough food for dinner, particularly on the first night in.
