Hi All
I have an 11 year old who doesn't want to Ride Rockin Roller Coaster. I know they have kid swap....can someone explain exactly how that works. In all of our years going to disney, we have never utilized this service. There will be three of us that DO want to ride and I hate for one of us to have to ride alone.

Any suggestions?

Child swap is intended for kids not tall enough to ride. Could your 11yo wait in the store at the ride's exit?

Well I was thinking she could walk with us while we wait than maybe exit at the last available exit and wait. I am sure I will get hated on for saying so but she is plenty mature enough to wait there for a few minutes while we ride. Really, I'm hoping she changes her mind and rides with us...she's just not big on THAT ride....

I had my DD8 walk through with us and exit and wait in the store. No hate from anyone :) I also had DS7 do the same on EE at AK.

Only problem with her waiting is she wouldn't wait where you exit.

They load and unload in different places.

So she would have to do the chicken exit and go by herself to where you get off. I am sure an 11yr could do it if guided by the CM (which again I am sure they would do..point her in the direction anyway).

Then just have her wait there. Or you could ask where RNRC exits (usually all exits are a gift shop) and have her wait there before you even get in line.

Also another way is to have 1 person stay with her and then use the single rider line.

No problems here. Nadjalu's advice seems the way to go to me.

Chicken exit is right where you load the ride... door there they can exit at and then wait the few more minutes for you to get off the ride. After you wal through the chicken exit you just walk ahead a little bit and will reach the store and is where you will be coming off the ride.
we did this last week... though it was me and 2 kids taking the chicken exit while other rode..... and would feel fine leaving my 11 year old at the store waiting for me to come off the ride if need me.

We had a chicken in our party. He wasn't too short or too young (9 years); just a scaredy-cat. :) He exited just as we were getting on and they took him right into the gift shop that you walk through when you leave. It was only a couple minutes and he spent the time looking around the shop.

He was actually surprised at how quickly we showed up.

No flames here, kudos to you for raising kids that are mature and learning to have patience. :thumbsup2

As others have said she can easily duck out the chicken exit and meet you guys in the gift shop.

Yup, chicken exit goes from the loading area straight to the store where you wind up when you unload. I got to test it out last summer lol.

DS6 was going to a family friend. She really wanted to go on the ride, I wasn't terribly sure if he'd chicken out. I have a ruptured disc in my back, so I didn't want to chance riding, but I went through the line with them just in case he backed out at the last minute, that way she wouldn't have to miss the ride for him. When he was safely secured in his seat, I went through the chicken exit, and waited for them in the store. The wait is only a few minutes, she should be fine!

Just a note that it is perfectly fine (and no hassle) to walk through any queue at WDW (for a ride for which a guest is tall enough) and then, at the last minute, decide not to ride.

This is true for any attraction, Dumbo up through Expedition Everest.
