Last-minute Easter basket ideas

Somehow I neglected to pick up items for my boys' Easter baskets this year, and I have to run out tomorrow and pick up some things. They are 8 and 10. I try not to buy much candy but rather little gifts that will fit inside their baskets. I'm going to pick up new battery-op toothbrushes, but I'm drawing a blank after that. Help, please.

I went to Toysrus- buy 1 get 1 50% off lego sets-, Buy one get one video game 50%(a little pricey but that is the big item) they both wanted the Pokemon games that came out. And at that lower price I did it.
Other fillers- books, games, new markers, Card Games, goggles, puzzles.

I went to Target too- and that filled it all up (and I got storage bins instead of baskets- they had $5 plastic drink totes that were a great size for baskets!)

What are they into? I'm used to doing ones for girls.

Are they into cars (Matchbox, Hot Wheels)
Do they like gardening? (Tools, seeds, etc.)
How about working with tools (their own hammer, screwdriver, sandpaper)
Reading-books are always great
If you're against too much sugar how about sugar free gum?
School supplies-colored pencils, crayons, pencil sharpener, glue sticks.
Do they have any small pets? Fish, lizards, etc. Get them things for the pets.
Cooking (yes some boys cook!) Cooking items-cake pan, tools, etc.
Art-paints, special paper, brushes, paint by number set

One thing I've given my DD the last few years are "love tickets" I write up coupons (egg shaped for Easter) with things like:

"Good for one movie out-your choice"
"Good for one hour of mom's undivided attention"
"Good for movie night at home-your choice of DVD (or video, or Blu Ray)
"Good for one hour of game play (Board game, etc.)"
"Good for one cooking lesson"
"Good for one home improvement lesson with dad"
"Good for your choice of homemade batch of cookies"

Some I have done specifically for a girl:
One hour of pampering
One massage
Mani-Pedi.

I hide the "eggs" for her to find Easter a.m. along with her basket and real eggs.

Buy a multipack of Bakugans and put them inside of eggs.
Webkinz are great for baskets too.

Matthew age 7 is getting Alvin and the Chipmunks movies
Rachel age 8 is getting the Taylor Swift Cd
and then they both get candy

They get movies EVERY year, but now Rachel no longer believes and requested a CD

Target has some really cool light up bike accessories that you screw on in place of the cap on the tire. They have two styles--one is white that flashes multiple colors when it moves & they also have some shaped like skulls that light up. They were 4.99 for a two pack.

I have them hiding in DH's closet right now--I'm kind of waiting for him to bump them so he freaks out at the flashing lights lurking in his closet!

My boys like to swim so I got them expensive googles and snorkels.

I read this just last week in the disney fun magazaine. FOR THE EASTER EGG HUNT. Buy a puzzle and both a puzzle piece in each egg and then when they are done the can put the puzzle together.

My boys are 5 and 9 and I got them those Nano Bugs at Target. The cashier told me those were flying off the shelves.

DS7 got books (club penguin) and then the club penguin DSi game (bought on Amazon super cheap) and some small legos. His birthday is at Christmas so I usually use this time to get some outdoor toys but we seem to have all we need right now. I would have just given him the legos anyways.

We also went to toys r us yesterday and I let him pick 4 penguins and grabbed the new lego movie. He doesn't get to do something like that often and it was so enjoyable. Kind of a fun special family day (we did other fun things too).

DD10 got the following in her basket this a.m.

Twilight New Moon (got for $1 thanks to great coupon!)
Milano Cookies
Eggs filled with Good 'n Plentys
Set of 3 LPS kitties. She wants them to do a Warriors Video (her current favorite book series)
Blue Peeps
DD isn't much of a regular Easter Candy eater. I asked her what candy she wanted and that's what I got her (except I couldn't find any Red Hots last night.)

My guys did not get an easter basket today (to their surprise).

Instead they found cute little rabbit "hutches" made of wood & wire, complete with "grass", a $5 bill (towards their WDW spending money), 2 small chocolate bunnies each, and rabbit pooh

My husband found these at Costco and came up with the idea of adding "rabbit pooh" in the form of chocolate chips. The kids LOVED that.

Then my husband pointed out to the kids that the rabbit hutches would make perfect cages to put large monarch catipillars in. They keep monarch catipillars every summer and release the butterflies after they change.
