Last Minute Disney Collection Stays

I posted a question here a few months ago about the possibility of last minute ressies using the Disney Collection in California. There wasn't much info available so I though I would share our outcome. I was afraid to get my hopes up but am happy to report it worked for us!

We have been away from DIS for a month while traveling in our RV. My husband retired and we hit the road. We knew we wanted to stay at DVC or at one of the Disneyland resorts, but didn't know until two days before when we would arrive. We called MS several times throughout the day and our persistance paid off. There was no availability at VGC but we were finally able to secure one night at Paradise Pier and after checking in we got three more nights at the Disneyland Hotel, all on points.

Member Services did an awesome job in looking at all our options. The dates of our stay were June 19-23, a busy time so I am told. The only downside was that I had to get up at 6am pacific to make the call because of the time difference.

I hope this post helps someone who is in a similar situation and I hope it works out for you also.

That's awesome. We have never had any problem with securing a reservation at DLH. We will probably be doing the same this fall as we have 187 points to use and live in California. We will be at WDW in December so there will not be a trip in between. What did you think of the new rooms at DLH?

I was also wondering about the rooms at DLH. I saw they added flat screen tvs. Do the rooms have a dvd player (I saw on the DLR resort web site some rooms at PP have them) or little refrigerators?

I've never stayed at DLH but I also have some extra points and we're thinking about a visit in October.

Sorry to the past two posters for not answering sooner. I have not had time to visit DIS for a couple days.

The rooms at DLH and PP were beautiful. I loved both. There is still a lot of construction on the pool area at DLH. The flat panels were in place but I didn't check for a DVD player, sorry. The bedding was my husband's favorite thing. He loved the duvet and covers the best. The fridge fits inside a console/hutch that holds the TV and also has drawers and a granite top. It was functional and looked great. After being in a small RV for 10+ days with DH and DS it felt like heaven to stay in those rooms. I couldn't stop playing with the headboard feature that lights up and plays "A Dream Is A Wish Your heart Makes"!
