I'm curious if anyone has had luck waiting and reserving a car a week before they go using one of the last minute deals they have advertised on Alamo/Nationals sites? We need a car 2 seperate days during our vacation in Feb, and the days are a whole week apart. So far it's still cheaper (about 75/day total) to rent daily, then a whole week (almost 300) with anything I've found. We want to get the car at Disney as well, since we are taking the ME there, and that seems easiest. Now looking at those deals for this coming week, they have quite a few choices that would work for us, and they are only about 35/day. I'm wondering if that is normal- do they always have several selections at the CCC in Disney for those last minute deals? Any help is appreciated!

It totally relies on supply and demand. You don't select your car at CCC, they pretty much assign it to you.

Sign up for Alamo Insider.....I almost always score a $15/day weekend rental through the emails they send. They tend to come very close to the dates that I need...so I suppose it is a last minute deal.

Book the best rate you can find right now and then watch for something better. You can cancel without penalty.....as long as you have not prepaid.

Also, I like to pick up at the Buena Vista Palace....it's a fast walk across the street from the DTD bus stop.
