Last Minute Booking

I am hoping to book our 2 week holiday to Orlando at the end of next week, hopefully leaving the week after (around the 31st May).

Obviously I am doing this last minute to save money, all I want is return flights and car hire for 2 (I am booking Clarion Hotel Maingate on the internet for around $30 p/n). Has anyone got experience of doing this, and what companies to use to get best value for money?? I was looking at teletext and have seen last minute fly drives starting at £199 inc CDW, do these exist????

Actually, £199 for a last minute flydrive is a bit steep!!

I paid £169 each 2 months ago for my flights in June (outbound British Airways, Return Travel City). A last minute flight could be around £139 if you shop around (and your dates dont coincide with the Whitsun half term break).

We use Travel City as they have consistently come up with the lowest prices, but there are lots of companies on Teletext that have bargain flights. Just make sure they have an ATOL or ABTA number. Skydeals are another good one to try. TIP: Dont get internet quotes but phone up, as you can get the best deals by being flexible on dates and departure times.

Also, be wary about CDW being included....CDW is the bare minimum car insurance and, unless you are prepared to leave a $1500 deposit at the Rental company, you will need top up insurance. Plus you will have to pay Airport levy, Florida State Taxes and fuel....there is quite a bit more to add onto "free" car hire. Budget around £200 for a smallish car.

Thanks for quick reply, have been ringing round today and got a quote from Travel City of £754 all inc. for two of us (car, cdw etc.) leaving 31st May.

I'm really looking for under £650 so going to keep on looking, still if can't get it cheaper £754 doesn't seem too bad!
