Ok. I am going in for Bariatric surgery in a month or so, and I keep talking about my last over indulged meal. I told Tom that I want him to fly him and me to WDW and eat at a bunch if resorts and indulge... Where would you go and what would you eat. Some of my faves/Wishes

Breakfast- never had tonga toast
Kona Cafe
Boma- Zebra Domes
Never been to 1800 park fare
Hmmm what else... keep dreamin, Im sure I will just get s nice steak at home, but oh what a dream, help me dream! LOL

I say this advice with much love, support and tenderness for you.

Since you will be embarking on a new life, a life that takes food from the center of your life...with this very brave surgery you are having...maybe start now. Planning a trip around eating is a sign that not only do you have to make healthy physical changes, but mental ones as well.

Save that money you would have spent on a quick trip to Disney with lots of meals and when you have recovered....take your self on a trip to celebrate the new you. A more healthy you.

Maybe returning to Disney in a year and staying for a week or so will be a nice way to congratulate yourself for the effort you are putting in to change your life and your health so that you may live a long and happy life with your family.

I hope I have no offended you in anyway. That was not my intention.

I think your choice is such a brave one and I am very happy for you!

Hugs!

No offense taken Allensfan. But a fat girl likes to dream. Yes I dream of the healthier me in the future, but even knowing that I will be limited from a certain point on is hard, kinda like saying once you go to Disney once you can only visit one of the four main parks for the rest of your life. I like to dream, I dream of today, tomorrow, and even the past. No hard feeling. What are some of your dream eateries......Note I did originally post my dream would be to plan a trip to eat my heart out.... LOL I will probably share a nice meal with family and friends! Thanks anyway...

OK doesnt anyone else dream??? I know I have seen alot of people dreaming about dole whips lately! LOL

I am so glad you were not angry, I really meant no harm. I have been in your shoes before and I guess I wanted you to celebrate the new you. Trust me, I used to dream about food...eat a meal and then wonder what I am having the next meal. :headache: I had to learn to travel for the entire experience, not just the food...which is what the old me did.

My last supper would most likely include an entire roll of cookie dough....does anyone really bake that stuff?? :flower3:

Make sure to treat yourself to a trip after your surgery...you have earned it!

Cookie dough... LOL that one sounds good, im sure the kids would jump in and help! :-) It certainly is going to be difficult since Tom is a baker by hobby.....he sells his wares LOL I think Im pretty good with the baked goods, after a while its too much!

A BAKER!!!??? I would be in SERIOUS trouble!!! :scared1:

By Yes, cookie dough with a side of steak, pasta, lobster and pancakes is pretty much my perfect meal :sad2:

Us gals gotta stick together. You can do it, trust me, if I can, anyone can!!!

tammy, I just wanted to say that I had weight loss surgery three years ago. I just want you to know that in the future, you will still be able to eat normal foods and enjoy yourself at WDW. I still love planning my meals at WDW.

Last fall my dh and I went to WDW on the DDP. It was way too much food for me, but I enjoyed getting to taste all the dishes and feeling like a normal person. Some of the food servers commented about how little I ate of my meal, but I just smiled and said I wasn't that hungry. No big deal!

The first year was tough, but three years out, I make good food choices, but still feel like a normal person.

So don't feel like life as you know it is over. I find that I enjoy life so much more now. I am really able to eat a little and still enjoy the over-all experience.

I'll start off by saying good luck with the surgery and I hope it helps you to achieve what you are looking for.

Now on to the fun stuff:
A Mickey bar
dole whip
rice krispie Mickey, or almost anything from the candy store!!
zebra domes
O'Hana, from 4 years ago
cheese soup

Honestly, I think I liked most everything I ate there! I guess that's why we haven't made it back for 4 years:rotfl: Of course we're from the other coast so we've been doing Disneyland instead!
I can think of many wonderful things from there too:lmao:

So yes a girl can dream! But seriously, I wish you the best also!!

I'm with Allensfan. I think it's great you are making this change in your life! I say the following with love and experience with trying to make changes in my own life. Not just weight loss, but any challenging change.

The key to success with any attempt at change is not to take the attitude that you will no longer be able to 'indulge,' - i.e. the attitude of loss - something - but rather to start making changes in your thinking NOW before the surgery. Focus entirely on what you'll gain! Use this time to find a new indugence. IF you focus on the positive aspect of this change, you are FAR more likely to be successful. Focus entirely on the new you, and the things you WANT to have happen.

Find new ways to reward yourself and you'll start feeling better before the surgery.

Truth be told, there are some meals I enjoy at WDW, but my favorite aspect of WDW is the rides.
That, and my secret evil pleasure is walking IN to MK, when everyone else is leaving. We often go to WDW during peak times, when long hours are offered. So we go to one park all day, then head to the MK after dinner and stay until midnight or later. If you enter MK around parade time, there are throngs of people leaving the park..it makes you feel like you'll have the park to yourself for the last few hours. We usually only get in a few rides, but I just love feeling that I've got extra endurance! Walking WDW is by far my favorite form of exercise!

Tammy, we are taking my sister to WDW in April, partly because she will be having bariatric surgery this fall. While it's not the MAIN reason, it was an important factor.
For us dining is a big part of our Disney vacation, and we wanted her to be able to enjoy that with us. And by that I do NOT mean that we'll be eating like pigs for a week :)

She picked Boma, WCC, 'Ohana and a bunch of character meals.
We don't usually snack in Disney, but she wants to go to Goofy's Candy Co. and pick up a treat or two.
