We are staying at the Dolphin & departing on a Saturday afternoon. We will not be visiting a park that day. My original plan was to visit Sanaa for lunch that day but now I'm thinking that it will be too much. Should we do Beaches & Cream instead? Another idea??

I will list our current meal plan in case that offers any insight. Thanks for your help!!

Arrive Sat Afternoon (11/15) - Disney Boardwalk for dinner

Sunday (HS) - Dinner @ Sci Fi

Monday (Epcot, last day F & W) - Lunch @ Via Napoli

Tuesday (AK) - Lunch @ Yak & Yeti

Wednesday (MK) - Dinner @ Be Our Guest

Thursday (HS) - Dinner @ 50's Prime Time

Friday (MK) - Lunch @ Be Our Guest

Saturday - currently have ADR for Sanaa @ 1

I just looked up Beaches and Cream for your day. (I know it's very difficult to get into) I put in the time that you want and a reservation for 4. (I wasn't sure how many you needed). Anyway, it shows nothing available. That might factor in to your decision. Nothing for a party size of 2, either.

No it doesn't, I have 'lucked out' with all my reservations so far. I don't mind searching periodically & the cancellation thread has been great. If people provide multiple alternate ideas for me to look for, even better! Thanks!!

That doesn't mean you won't "luck out" again. People do cancel all the time. However, Beaches and Cream is so small that, even if someone cancels, it fills up pretty quickly. Have you thought about anything at Downtown Disney? Wolfgang Puck Express is one of our favorites. Their pizza is amazing. I do see that you are doing Via Napoli, so you might not want pizza again. Their meatloaf is really good, too. Raglan Road is also one of our favorites. We also love Kona, at the Polynesian. I just checked. Kona has availability at 1:05 that day.

Honestly the Fountain and Fresh at the Dolphin have much better food than Beaches and Cream (Fountain ice cream is better too IMHO), so you could just eat at your resort without an ADR. The food at Capt. Grill is better as well.

WOW!! Good to know - Thanks so much!! We've never stayed there before so it's a whole new experience

Every time we travel too far on departure day I am sorry. I think I would probably eat either onsite at your resort or maybe a CS on the Boardwalk.

You could also think about a nice breakfast if your goal is to explore a resort. If you want to go to AKL, Boma is good, and if you like the monorail resorts, 'Ohana is fun. I just would be careful with a lunchtime ADR.

Exactly what I'm thinking! I REALLY wanted to eat at Sanaa but I don't want everyone to be too frazzled to enjoy the experience.

I would love to do Boma for breakfast - I haven't made a single breakfast ADR because I don't want to start our day rushing around. I considered it for the last day but I think that would be even more chaotic than trying to do a lunch somewhere.

We generally check our bags with the airline, chec out of the room ad then we are free for the day. I schedule a late morning breakfast and that seems to work for us. We also may just do a CS lunch before we leave for the airport.

The restaurants at Swan/Dolphin are some of the best on property. Along with the Fountain and Fresh, there is Kimono's which arguably has the best sushi, Il Mulino (great Italian), blue zoo (great seafood and other dishes), Shula's (great steak) and Garden Grove (great buffet). If you would rather do breakfast than lunch, Garden Grove is really good and if it's a weekend it's a character breakfast at a lower cost than the other character meals in WDW. In fact, if you are a AAA member, you get a 20% discount!
