Last Hurrah!!!
Since this may well be our final trip to Disney World we wanted to hit all our old favorites and make sure to see all the new things on our lists. Months of reading the boards and previous trips had prepared us for our 10 day (extended to 12 days) trip.

Sun. Nov. 4th we went to Epcot for the day. No sense in hurrying as the place did not open until 11 and WS Noon. Quick trip thru 'security' and right on Spaceship Earth. We bet on how many times it will break down and I won this one with only one breakdown. I would freak anywhere but DW if this stuff happened but I have faith in the Mouse. LOL I had looked forward to seeing the Pioneer Virtual Resort I had read about on the DIS but after wandering around with a lost look in my eyes I was spotted by a CM named Ted. Not exactly sure he was just a CM as he seemed might knowledgable and mentioned the fact that he had 'worked' on different rides and such. We had an extensive conversation and he was very helpful but had never heard of PVR. Maybe it was a 'figment' of someone's imagination? Ted told us about all the hidden security in place. We have all heard about people being quietly steered away and magical help arriving at some times from no where. I believe in it but still think the bag checks are silly. IMHO Universe of Energy we just walked in at the end of the preshow and got right in the conveyance. Food Rocks was only about 1/4th full but Living with the Land had a 20 minute wait so I passed it by. I had gotten sick the night before and was in no shape to stand around. Got a GAC later in the week but that is another story. We got to Le Cellier too late for lunch and I was not up for a big meal so I contented myself with a sample of the Cheddar Soup. It was good but I have a recipe I make that beats it, at least to me. Glad I tried it but wish they had had some pretzel bread to go with. My DH was not sick and wanted to go to his favorite Epcot restaurant, Norway. I think this is the best bargain in WS. About $12 buffet. If you enjoy seafood this is the place to be. DH had a couple of kinds of salmon, herring in sauce and shrimps along with a plate or two of other items including venison stew. He ate so much he ran into the dinner hour. Our server was a beautiful young lady named Marie and she was great. I could only drink tea and she made sure I never ran out even tho I did challenge her skills. I tipped as if she had served me food also. Waiting for my skinny DH to finish his food often requires great patience on my fluffy part. We stayed for TOD. While we have seen TON several times we had never seen it after dark and it was awesome. I noticed that the drums were not beaten as loudly this time. We sat at the Cantina afterward and DH had a great margarita and a huge platter of nachos lingered between us as we caught the second showing of TOD and then stayed to see Illuminations. It was the first time I had ever really gotten a good view. Would have been better if people had not come along and stood in front tho. Next time we will get a table nearer the rail with no room for more!! We had held a couple of spaces for a couple we had met at the earlier TOD parade. He was in a wheelchair and were Disney nuts also. Hope to run into them on the boards soon. I have their email so I will jog their memory. They were headed off on a cruise (Disney, of course) next. Back to the room to recuperate for the next day.

MGM day. I think this is my favorite park. Just the right size for a slow poke like me and lots of stuff I like to do. Tried to make ressies for the Brown Derby/Fantasmic package but luckily I had read the menu and they are not offering the full size Cobb Salad anymore for dinner, just a small version. They were full up anyway so we booked H&V, never having been there. We walked into Sounds Dangerous, Muppetvision, and Hunchback (it was not full). Back to get our favorite parade seats. Next to Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous is a closed show and there are steps in front of it. Some were cordoned off for special guests but we had no trouble finding a place. Seems a lot of people do not realize that they can sit there. Everyone in front has to sit down so the view is wonderful and there are rails for those of us who are puny to lean against. Met some great people while waiting and then Miss Louella came out and entertained us until the show came. When the parade got to our area they stopped and did their thing. Best place to see it as far as I am concerned. I enjoyed the Cars and Stars Parade a lot more than the MK bubble thing. Over to H&V for dinner. About $20 each with tip and drink for the buffet. Pork Loin/Turkey/Flank Steak and Salmon were the entrees of the night. Great side dishes and I had to have a small piece of the Red Velvet Cake. This is a new favorite. Some of the best things in life happen by accident. We invested in Rain Ponchos that night and it is so lucky that we did. We found the entrance for the Spectormagic Package (the sign had been lost) and took the long and winding path up to the arena. Got great seats a bit further down than last time. Could not see too well that time. Awesome is an overused word but it sure fit. It was a bit cold and the spray of water caused us to have to hide behind our ponchos. Good investment. The guy sitting next to me had a tiny camcorder that was also a digital camera and we had quite a conversation about it. I made the faux pax of asking if they sold them here. He was Oriental and I assumed, incorrectly, that he was from out of the country. He was from New York. BLUSH!!! Hope that does not make Santa put me down on the bad list cause I sure would like one of those for Christmas. Electronic and Hardware stores are my life. My DH loves china and crystal. Go figure. (smile)
By the time I get done with these reports it will be time to bind this sucker into a book rivalling War and Peace. As big as but not as good as for sure.
