Last evening's crowds (Fri)

Well, last night we did the unthinkable and went to Disneyland for the evening even after all the warnings not to go because of the Cheerleaders, etc. We arrived at about 5 pm and left at about 9:30 and rode Thunder Mt., Haunted Mansion, Pirates, spent about 30 minutes in Innoventions (our boys like it), ate dinner and had a snack and just walked around. We were going to watch the fireworks but they were cancelled because of the wind. Anyway, crowds weren't terrible. We saw cheerleader and band groups so they were there. I'm sure today is worse. We could have rode more rides but just didn't feel like it. So go brave those crowds and don't let the fear of cheerleaders scare you away!!

Roxy--did they have fireworks at all? I don't live that far away and I swear I heard the booms!

We left when they didn't start on time and the announcement came on that they may be cancelled because of the wind. There were fireworks around 9:30 at Angel's Stadium, could that be what you heard? We were in the parking garage about 9:45 and Disney's still hadn't started. Maybe someone stayed later and can confirm.

There were no fireworks Friday. Saturday they started them, and then cancelled them after about 10 minutes. SO disappointing!!!

I saw all the people packed all around the hub area Friday night then about 9:10 heard the announcement that they may cancel because of wind and felt bad for them. Then they were cancelled and the huge flow out the exit started. (No one seemed too angry, but I'm sure some were!)

Funny that they were cancelled--there weren't winds at ground level--must have been up high?

yeah, they were high up. totally can tell from even my prospective. It went up smoothly and then BOOOOOM, it started going to the left by A LOT.
