Last Day to Add/Remove DDP?

The short question: When is the last day I can add or remove a DDP to my booked package, and will adding and removing anything mess with my tickets (package was booked before the October ticket change)?

The long backstory: We are taking a 6 night trip leaving 1/10/19, my parents are joining us for 3 nights on another reservation. The trip was a gift, so we are planning to pay for all their food. For ease and price, I ended up booking the DxDDP and planned to share our credits with them when they were with us. Now there are whispers that come Jan 1, you may not be able to share credits beyond what is booked in the room. If that is the case, I'm going to take a bath on the DxDDP- we'll end up with way too many credits and spend much more out of pocket paying for their meals. If that's the situation, it probably makes sense to drop our room to the DDP and add the DDP to their room for their reservation. Of course, we won't really know about sharing credits in 2019 until after Jan 1, and we leave on Jan 10.

How long do I have to wait for reports for sharing to roll in for 2019?

I've done the math- the DxDDP for our room only is about $200 more expensive than the DDP for both rooms, so I'd really prefer the deluxe (appetizers! desserts!) if I can still share.

Can't answer the ticket question, but the you'll have until 72 hrs before check-in to decide on which plan to do. That gives you almost a week to see reports. Problem is there may not be a DISer trying to use their credits for others in that week. Still worth waiting until right at the 72 hr mark to see, though.

According to https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney...ady-paid-package-received-magic-bands-310598/ you can wait until 24 hours before checkin. Agree the info is more than 2,5 years old, so it might have been changed going forward.

I would be surprised if you couldn't share the credits on a deluxe plan - and how would they ever find out? scanning everyones MB? that would be limited to the parks not outside as you are not required to wear them. Even in the parks you aren't required to have one so its kind an iffy solution.

I do however find it fair that if you aren't on the Deluxe that kids order from the kids menu including anyone using a Kids TS.

They only have to scan one band and can see exactly what plan you're on and how many are in your room. If you're paying with the dining plan anywhere on site, you'll have to use your band or a KTTW card which would have the same information.

As to the Disneyparksmompanel, they are often incorrect. It's been 72 hrs for as long as I can remember and 48 hrs for DVC, so have no idea where they got the 24 hrs.
