We have always started right after Labor day...even when I was a kid. To us, that's normal.....LOVE it The kids are still in shorts here till October for the most part and yet fall festivals start happening and it just seems the right time to start school.

We get out June 16th this year...

Public schools, June 22nd due to all of the snow days they added on,

Ds goes to a private school and they are out June 10th

May 17th -- some neighboring systems are out the week before. Flip side -- we go back the end of July/beginning of August.

Love it! The week leading up to Labor Day is a great vacation week. Low crowds and prices go down.

We started after Labor Day when I was a kid and its still the same here. However due to the snow days we had this year(kids had to go to school on Good Friday so they wouldnt be going until June 28), there is some talk about starting earlier. Im not happy about it.

June 3 for us. We start again the last week of August just before Labor Day.

Someone else asked if anyone liked starting after Labor Day. My answer is I would like to try it! It seems like a waste to get all geared up for school for 3 days and then have 3-4 days off. My DD even had homework over Labor Day weekend last year.
