Has anyone done the latest breakfast seating (10:45) at Crystal Palace?

Lunch seatings start at 11:30, but will the buffet start switching over from breakfast to lunch before then?

Our goal is to have the latest breakfast seating we can so we can enjoy as much lower crowd rope drop time as possible before it. We don’t like the lunch offerings there, so we want to be sure the buffet will be breakfast.

You will be able to get plenty of breakfast food. We've eaten there several times with a seating of 10:30 or 10:45 and never had an issue with getting breakfast items. They will switch one side of the buffet over to lunch but the other side of the buffet will remain breakfast for a while longer. A lot of people really like the last seating because they can get foods from both the breakfast and lunch buffets.

I’ve seen the same thing when I’ve been there for late breakfasts. The OP should be fine—we’ve never felt like they’ve run out of breakfast foods. Everything is still there, just once instead of twice.

I would caution anyone else from being too sure you’ll get both breakfast and lunch to choose from, though. Last time we were there (December 2018), they used barricades like at a movie theatre to separate the two sides. It’s possible to walk around, but it felt like they were trying to set up ways to keep people who booked breakfast to the breakfast side only. Booking the last breakfast to get breakfast and lunch might be a thing of the past...

we're booked for a 1040 my DD is not big on breakfast foods while breakfast is one of my favorite meals.... hoping we get the best of both worlds

^ We were just there last month with the last breakfast seating (10:45) and there were no barricades or anything like that separating the sections once the lunch food was put out. Perhaps you went at a really busy time, or that was a one-off?
This happened to us last March also. Lunch items were roped off. I also felt like the breakfast items were depleting quicker than they were being replaced. We had such a different experience at our late breakfast at Tusker House. I typically really like late breakfasts but I probably wouldn’t book such a late seating at CP again based on our experience.

it sounds like it could be a really inconsistent thing, then!

i was there right before christmas, so maybe it is only something that happens in busy periods?

it’s not that i personally want the benefits of a late breakfast to disappear, it’s just my experience that the lunch food wasn’t available.

We did a 10:30am breakfast at CP in late January 2019. There were plenty of breakfast items available for us to go up to the buffet several times and we were not rushed at all. They did start putting out lunch items towards the end and I saw some people getting some (it was definitely not roped off when we were there!) but we never got any. I really enjoyed our meal there, I thought it was really relaxing and it wasn't super busy since we were kind of in between meal times.

Oh, I totally believed you! I was mostly wondering why they were not consistent with this, but when it comes to Disney, wondering why they are consistent with policies is like wondering why water is wet.

So, I have heard before about late breakfast and getting switch over to lunch, but never thought too much about it...:scratchin Now you got me thinking about this trip in Nov 2019...both my parents and me like breakfast, but everyone would pick supper for the CS credit...this could be the best of both worlds...:scratchin

What do you think about the slower season just before Thanksgiving and trying to accommodate everyone? Do you think it might work at that time? Has this been what a lot of people do to accommodate their party?

They don't block it off to separate diners. They block off one side of the buffet at 11:00 to set it up for lunch, at 11:30 they block off the remaining breakfast side to set it up for lunch, opening the side that was set first.

I did this and there was plenty of breakfast items. It gave us an opportunity to enjoy the park earlier and get as much in as possible after rope drop and then save our FP for later in the day. The characters came around a little more quickly I found, less people during the turnover time. Also we just enjoyed a Dole whip in between and had an earlier dinner 5:30 then saved more room for ice cream later and had a great full day at the park.

This has been my strategy as well. You can get quite a bit done before 10:30 and then get a nice air conditioned break. We will just get a snack in the middle of the day (usually of the ice cream variety) and round out the day with a quick service dinner followed by more ice cream.

We did a very late breakfast one morning and HATED It. They start roping off some of the buffet areas and the offerings are pretty limited so whatever is still left and out, is pretty much all that you'll get. I also find the character interaction is VERY rushed at CP and on more than one occasion we got our M&G with Pooh or Tigger by the front door.

Well I've booked it again this year so I hope that there is at least plenty of breakfast food. Technically if your paying for the same breakfast buffet they should have all the choices available.

I don't care about getting the lunch too, just hoping I get the breakfast my reservation is for. I'll update after I've had it again!
