A lot in our group are leaving this week, so I wanted to post a quick summary of stuff. If you are sailing 2/1, and somehow have missed our thread, it's not too late to come join the party!
We have a lot of folks going... I think the entire 5-7 group in the Oceaneer Club is going to be all DIS-kids!!

Okay, fellow 2/1 cruisers, here is the rundown so far:

Friday night, 1/31 -- For those of us at the Radisson the night before, we will be having a pool-side get-together at around 7pm. It's looking kinda chilly for that night, though, so Plan B will be to meet in the lobby area if it's just too uncomfortable outside. I'll be the one with the green glow bracelets on. :)

Saturday, 2/1, Sailaway -- A few other people said they like to be up out of the crowd for the Sailaway Party, so feel free to join DS and I up on Deck 10, overlooking the party, on whichever side is facing the terminal (can't remember from last time if that was port or starboard.)

Saturday, 2/1, Pin Trading -- Just throwing this out there now. :) It looks like there is an exclusive pin available this first night, so I have to be there. *grin* Pin Trading will be in the Atrium Lobby, Deck 3, at 7:30pm (from a very recent Navigator -- subject to change.) Come bring your pins and join me!

Sunday, 2/2, Main Meet -- We will be meeting at 10am on the secret deck at 7 aft. I will order a plate of danishes and doughnuts the night before to bring out there, and if a few other people could do the same, that would be great.

Wednesday, 2/5, Pin Trading -- Just throwing this out there now, too. :) There looks to be another exclusive pin event that will be going on during the Mexicali-yadda-yadda deck party at 10pm at the Goofy Pool, midship on Deck 9. Even if you aren't into pins, this would be a great place top meet up with other DIS-ers at the deck party!

That's all the "official" stuff... but I'm sure we'll have many other impromptu mini-meets. :) And hey, like I said, you can always find me at Bingo, and/or at the Rockin' Bar D every night. *grin* Or just come stick a note in the fishy's mouth at #5132 if you want to say hi or meet up with me and can't make the above eventies, because I'd love to meet all of you other 2/1 cruisers!! :)

Travel safe, all of you leaving soon, and I'll see you very soon!!

Hi Gina,

Sounds great! Can't wait to get there!!

Are any of you other 2/1 cruisers arriving the morning of departure? Our flight is scheduled to arrive from Philly at 9:24 am. If all goes well (praying that it does) we should be on one of the earlier buses heading to the port. Same schedule as we had last year and we did in fact get to the port pretty early.

Hope to see some of you on the bus and for sure on board!

Leaving the evening before... but we won't be at the Radisson... But I sure would like to meet some of the great DISers on board!!!

Yippee........... packing started........ 8 days to go. Taking Cruise Bus from Hyatt to Port. If you see 2 excited Brits: THATS US!

According to two separate posts from the last Western Itinerary... they didn't make it into Castaway Cay. One of my friends will be so disappointed!!! I am trying to go with the attitude that I will have a great time... chilly or not!!!:smooth:

We sure are getting close now!!!:Pinkbounc

Hey all you 2/1 cruisers - look for us - we'll be waving Bon Voyage to you! :) DH and I are getting in 2/1 for our 2/2 DVC Member Wonder Cruise. The plan as it stands now is to go to Grills for dinner Saturday night and then wave good-bye to the Magic as she goes past.

For those who don't know Grills is a seafood place half-way up the channel (on the right side as you are facing the front of the ship) on your way out to sea.

We even have Mickey Mitts we're brining. So as your leaving look for us. Have a great time! Enjoy sailaway! 24 hours after you it is our turn!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

allears,

I just checked our itenerary and we're not scheduled to land at MCO until 9:54am. I guess we might be on the same DCL bus. Maybe we can steal the mike away from the DCL driver and find all of our DIS passengers.

Gina, it snowed in Port Canavral Friday - I read it on the Port Cam site. UGH. It is so cold in Connecticut. People I work with are saying, "wow, the high in FL right now is 19º." I'm ready to rip off their heads! (Only kidding.) I'm getting a little anxious now. Packing and repacking, but not really packing. You must all know what I mean!

See everyone on board. Lots of luck to everyone for a safe flight to our Paradise on the sea!

Mary --

How fun!! We will definitely be looking for you when we go past!

Kim & goin2dzny --

I'm only stressing about the weather in that I don't know what to wear out that day and pack to wear for the two days before we sail. The forecast keeps changing, as usual! But the good side to that is, if it holds up, the forecast looks *way* better for our sailaway than it did a few days ago!! And the high is forecast a bit higher, at 71 currently. A few days go, it was 61.

I'd hate to miss places like Castaway Cay because I know so many people are looking so forward to them. Me, I'd be happy if the ship just sailed around for a week and went nowhere. :) I love seeing new places, but my main love is the ship. Last time when we went to Castaway Cay, it was so cold and overcast, my son's lips are blue in all the pictures. (He insisted he wasn't cold and wouldn't come out of the water!)

As long as the weather doesn't mess up anybody's flights, and it doesn't rain on DS and I for our one day at Epcot, and our sailaway party doesn't get rained on, I'll be happy. :)

What stinks for me is, I started getting a cold again yesterday!!!
:( :( :( DS and I *never* get sick... maybe a cold every couple of years. Maybe. Since last fall, we have had throat infections and sinus infections, and numerous colds. I have been sooooo religious about hand-washing and Purell, and even keep Clorox Wipes at my desk at work and wipe down my phone every time someone touches it. But now I have a cold again. :( I'm taking vitamins, and sucking on zinc drops, and praying that it just goes away. If anyone has any spare pixie dust they can toss my way, I'd appreciate it -- I have too much to still do to feel icky. :(

Hope the germs are staying away from everyone else!!

Gina,

My stepdaughter got sick last week and missed 2 days of school. I went thru the house with Lysol. I made her (she's 17!) go thru her room and strip the beds, wash everything from top to bottom. Don't think she had the Norwalk but she definately had a viral. Poor thing. I know I am mean but she's old enough to disinfect her room. I'm not going near those germies. My son isn't in daycare - Dad works nites. We are less at risk than daycare families. That is a saving grace.

Pixie dust to you to get rid of that cold. Wipe down that tanning bed and get yourself well!

Hello Everyone!
I was part of the original thread that planned to meet - we had to change our date to 1/4 sailing to accomodate my daughter's school schedule. We. of course had a magical time despite the chilly temps and not being able to dock in Grand Cayman. Actually, the unscheduled sea day ended up being our favorite.
Have a spectacular time - it has been difficult watching the calendar, realizing that we should be getting on this sailing. Oh, well.....
Don't worry about any possible schedule changes, weather etc.... it all works out well in the end. If anyone has Adrian/Joyce as their servers or Erika at Palo's or Katie in the spa - tell them that Dawn, Meagan and Erin from Tampa Bay say hello.
By the way, the local forecasts show improving weather throughout the week - 60 today moving closer to 70s by the week's end.
Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!!!!

Count us in. I have been lurking in the background for 2 weeks now and have decided to register. My husband, 10 year old son and myself are leaving out of Hartford Saturday morning. I hope the weather is warmer than the wind chill of 10 below today. Kim, are you leaving out of Hartford also? See you on the ship, and thanks for all of the great information!

kshabare,
Just got our computer back, again. Finally seems to be working well. We'll look for you on the bus! Can't wait. Have had a very long stressful past 7 days and can not wait to board that ship and just relax!

Well....I have mostly been lurking, but excitement got the best of me. We will be there too!!! Myself, DH and DS (8) & DD(12) are headed down Thursday before the cruise. We are praying for good weather....and that all our clothes fit into the suitcases!! (How can four people possibly need sooooo many clothes??)
Hope to see you there!
