We did our last blast at HHN last night, arriving for stay and scream and not leaving till 2 a.m., and our feet have the blisters to prove it! It was much more crowded than Halloween nights in the past, but we got a lot done and broke up the night with the shows and dinner at Finnegan's. We "bonded" with Cast A in several of the houses this year, so we went through them on the last set for some goodbyes. The saddest for me was "Leave it to Cleaver," as we went through there so many times that we were presented with honorary employee badges. We went through bidding goodbye to everyone and thanking them for a great season. My husband had to high five the burly guys who terrorized him every time he wore his Vault shirt in "Frank," and I had to say goodbye to the mortician in "Wolfman" who always cracked me up with his banter. At the end I saw the Wolfman coming and thought "Oh no, here we go again" (he nearly made me wet my pants earlier in the year sneaking up on me and chased me out of there countless times), but this time he just gave me a pat on the head. Then we did "Silver Screams" as our very last house, right before 2 a.m. It was funny (and sad) to see the normally silent Phantom lamenting the loss of his movie. As we walked out, we saw the scareactors from Horrorwood going in but could hear the Chainsaw Drill Team still in action. They quit just as we arrived and passed us in a line, high fiving everyone and also chainsawing me one last time. We were there 16 times this years, so I am in big time withdrawal. It was quite a year!

We also had a first yesterday. They evacuated Silver Screams when we were halfway through, in the screen room. There was an alarm (no, not the one that's always there in the next scene) and the lights all came on. Then there was an announcement that the house was closed and to leave in an orderly fashion, Since it was still early (first house of Stay & Scream). everyone remained calm and filed out, trying to figure out what was going on. We never did, but it reopened a little while later and stayed open the rest of the night.

Aww, I know how you feel. We were at the last Bill and Ted at 1:30 am. It's been an annual tradition for us since HHN 2 to see the very first and very last show of the run. The actors always go all-out for the last show, changing things up and making it even more risque than usual. Last night Roddy and Aiello were both there as well. The entire audience was yelling huge chunks of dialogue along with the actors, and the fourth wall came crumbling down by the end as audience callbacks a la Rocky Horror became the norm. The ending with the whole "you guys keep the Wyld Stallyns rockin'" was especially poignant.

After the show, most of the actors plus Roddy and Aiello were on hand for a meet n greet that lasted until the cops finally kicked everyone out after 2:30. It was a sweet and sad goodbye to another great run. We're going through withdrawals today as well. Sigh, it's always hard to see it come to an end...but just 11 months to wait for next year!
