Hi all we are having move our cruise and holiday in May to the last 2wks of June into 1/2nd wk of July due to hubby's operational needs at work!

Has anybody been around this time,
And is it really busy? I know its going to be hot which I'm a bit gutted about as we normally do October or middle of September, and was only doing May as its the twins bday!

We will do a 4 night cruise a wk at universal then 10 days at disney.

Any advice would be great

As of next year it's going to be the most awesome time of year to go! Because we are going to be there - last 2 weeks of June and first week of July :cheer2:

Seriously, aside from the heat and humidity and more rain than we have been used to in our April/September/October trips, I expect it to be busy but manageable. The week of Independence Day will probably be the busiest of the three we are there and I accept that as well and don't regret my decision to go at this time.

I would probably put the Disney portion of the trip in June rather than July if possible, if you're trying to avoid the worst of the crowds. Weather wise I dont think it is going to be much different, if any different at all. Unless, like us, you specifically want to be there for July 4th

I've done that time of year twice and hated how busy and humid it was, we usually go in September and October though so used to the low crowd levels

I used to always go those weeks when I went with my parent's and when I was younger. With fastpass we did find it manageable despite the heavy crowds. Avoid Magic Kingdom on the 4th it is always full. However we did go first thing in the morning on the 4th once and got most of the rides done while they did a ceremony in front of the castle for those emigrating.

Very busy but it can be done however not sure what it would be like with the new fast pass system. I advise early mornings with a swim in the afternoon when it's at its hottest and then returning to the parks in the evening. :goodvibes

You know what,? I would love to have the chance to finally meet you :)

Saying that the more I read about that time of year the more I want to cry lol!
I was just about managing May!! And only because the twins begged for their bday! My bday is in July and as much as I'd love to be there for my 30th I couldn't do it!

We are thinking of swapping out the cruise for May 2015 and doing cruise and disney,
But for this June just going and doing universal sea world & discovery cove, still don't know if I could go and not do disney :( but not sure I want to do disney when its that hot & crowded! Decision s ..:::::

Have an amazing xmas xxx

We have done those weeks and tbh we wouldn't do them again by choice. But its because of the heat/humidity/crowds combo really. I can cope, just, with heat and humidity if its not too crowded or crowds if its not too hot/humid but put them altogether, not enjoyable at all. There is another BUT here, I am used to November weather. The crowds were also very heavy but we managed.

That sounds horrific doesn't it but honestly we still had a fantastic time and if it was then or not at all I wouldn't hesitate to go back. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY, HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAYXXX

Please don't be put off going at this time of year.........we have done it three times in the past and are going for three weeks in 2014 from end of July until mid August.....
Yes it is hot! Yes it is humid! Yes is is crowded! And sometimes you get torrential downpours!!
However, we always avoid the parks after 11.00am until the evening and because the parks are open late in the summer you can spend some lovely warm evenings touring until the early hours!
My son loves because there are more lizards around to spot too!!! lol!

We have been in Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, March and April............and whilst our favourite time would be Oct/Nov you will have loads of fun in July!

Thanks just feeling so down right now, had the cruise SSR and universal all booked for 10th May for 3wks for twins bday trip and as usual DH military work screws it right up!
They announced last wk that were being posted while hubby trains for his job in the states! We was meant to be staying put before the US posting, but instead decided he was perfect candidate for the Narcotics intelligence department! Which means we move in 2wks then they send him away for 4 months :( bringing him home on the 16th June!!

Haven't told the boys yet there going to be gutted on both aspects of daddy being away and us or being on our 1st cruise for their bday!

Anyways hope your having a fab xmas! We're trying to decide wether it would be worth the cold weather and crowds to do xmas at disney lol x

The first week of July will be massively busy because we celebrate Independence day on July 4. And this year it falls on a Friday so a lot of people will take the day before off as a vacation day or the following Monday so that they can have a 4 day weekend.

Not to mention it will be sweltering HOT

You may also want to factor in the opening date of Diagon Alley at Universal meaning it will potentially be busier than Disney!
