So looking to book next August last two weeks when the points drops. North east schools so we don't go back until September 1stish. Just trying to gauge how busy it is for dvc and what kind of luck people had at the 7th month window. Thanks for any input.

Not a high demand time. Likely to find VWL, SSR, AKV standard and savanna view, OKW, BLT lake view, and BWV pool/garden view open. Some chance for BCV and BLT theme park view though those could be missing a few days during those two weeks. BWV boardwalk and standard views should have 1BRs open but studios/2Brs will likely have some days filled. VGF dedicated 2BRs and 1BRs should be open but studios and 2BR lockoffs likely to be missing some days. Probably no chance for AKV value or club level or BLT standard view.

I've been during that time (and early June) a number of times. Southern schools tend to be back in the middle of August but out by June. As you near the Thursday of the Sept Holiday, things will pick up and weekdays tend to be lighter than weekends.

thanks so much for the response makes me feel confident. I had a feeling family's would be less likely to take kids on vacation right before they go back to school.

We love that time of year but now that the kids are in marching band we have to go other times.

We are similarly going to try and hit this. Our schools don't go back until after Labor Day, and next year Labor Day is September 7th, so a trip for the week before labor day is (mostly) in the lowest possible season. Drsuba's comments are what I am figuring/hoping for...a split stay with half at either BCV or BWV (pool view) and other half at BLT (lake view). If not available, we will take what we can get.

I bet you will be able to do better than that. We got a BWV Boardwalk view studio for that week, on a waitlist that we only put in 4 months out. First week of September is usually one of the lowest attendance weeks of the year at WDW.

As more and more schools go to a fall break, many are starting earlier in August. So I bet if you book right at seven months you can either have whatever resort and view you desire, or it will come through if you waitlist. Good luck!

Hmmm, we were leaning towards trying out BCV, but if we actually had a shot at a BWV Boardwalk view? That might be VERY tempting.

If you get it, go for it. Its one of those things that when the opportunity comes up - grab it. You may not love it - but you won't know unless you try and you might not get a lot of opportunity to try.

The very few times I've done a seven month switch (we usually just stay "home") I make a list of what I want in priority order. It might be BWV Standard, BWV Boardwalk, BCV, BWV Preferred or something like that.

We've done the last two weeks in August a few times and it was one time that we did switch - got a BCV room (and decided we liked home better - but we gave it a try).

Its HOT and HUMID generally those weeks. Its a week we put frozen water bottles in hand towels and actually use the stupid misty fan thing.

I am going for bay lake tower studio lake view or maybe standard if I am lucky. Then going to break it up and shoot for 2 nights at akl. I will go in and grab a full week at a top choice resort. Then back off the front day and book Friday and Saturday at AKL then 6 nights at hopefully bay lake or GF. Maybe add the Sunday if we get super super lucky hit it for 9 nights. Man I wish we were at the 7 months now!!!!!

Yeah, well actually I'm hoping for 6 nights at BCV or BWV, and then 4 at BLT.

And yes, I know how hot and humid it will be. This is why I want close-to-park resorts if I can get them so we can have mid-day swim breaks.
