Lasik surgery - care to share your experiences?

So for those of you that have had it done, do you still have to wear readers?

I would have had to but I had one corrected for distance, one for reading. That's the hitch, as we age, reading glasses are a fact of life!

I've heard of this but also hear that some people have difficulty adjusting to different vision in each eye. Did you adapt easily?

Oh, Lord, I'd LOVE Lasik! It's just too darned expensive though, and insurance (of course) won't cover any part of it. They'll cover seeing eye dogs, though.

I do not wear readers or glasses of any kind.
I was always near-sighted though, not sure if that's the difference. Prior to LASIK, I could not see the E at the top of the eye chart.

There are times when I am glad that I got it done, but other times that I really do miss my glasses. I wore glasses since 2nd grade so it feels like they were always a part of who I am/was. I'm glad that I had it done for when I get up in the middle of the night with my kids and didn't have to fumble with glasses. The surgery didn't bother me at all and I recovered quickly. It's been 3 years but I see floaters a lot and that can get annoying. And I don't go out at night often, but when I do, driving is very difficult. Headlights are doubled. weird.

DH had Lasik done a week before me and had to go back 2 more times because his vision just wasn't right. 3 years later and he still has to use rewetting drops.

It is great to be able to see clearly when swimming or in the shower though!
