Laser teeth whitening

Anyone tried this? Anyone that has used the tray method and then switched to the laser method that can compare the 2 for me? I have the tray system but I need a touch up and I can't seem to get too excited about wearing the trays again.

I never used the tray, but did the laser one. So I cannot compare. But the laser is not bad. It's not as white as I wanted it to be, and was told it has to do with my enamel. I'd still recommend. Very quick, and convinient.

One thing I didn't expect is that it actually hurts me a little bit. My teeth are not sensitive, but during and afterwards, I get sharp pain on and off. Was told it's normal. If I'd known, I'd take pain killer before hand.

Also, you can only eat white-colored food for the 12 hours afterwards. So plan your appointment accordingly.

So if you eat a purple Popsicle, you have permanent purple teeth after?

No. You won't get purple teeth forever. But during those couple initial hours, color sticks easier to your teeth. So, unless you don't mind having rainbow teeth for 12 hours, stick with white food. They warn you pretty good too. BTW, I can only think of Chicken Alfredo.

My husband has been using the trays, and I'm amazed at the results! It's made a huge difference. I may have to change dentists just to have mine done. (It was a dentist that offered the teeth whitening free for new patients)

I used the trays, but had to take them out after just a few minutes. I used the 20% solution, and it was WAAAY too strong for my gums. I'm waiting to talk to my dentist at my regular appt in a few weeks.

BTW - is the laser whitening really expensive?
